    I know a few of you guys are waiting as anxiously as I am, but it's starting to get a little old. This game was announced in June 2008. At that point it was already well into production. How on earth can we be sitting here in March of 2011 and there isn't even as much as an announcement for a BETA date yet?

    plus blizzard is waiting for the sc2 crowd to get bored of the game before giving them something new.

    This game better be epic. I lowered my collective high school GPA by a full point from playing D2. Can't wait to see what it does to my sales numbers once D3 comes out...

    Starcraft II came out in 1998, and we got the sequal in 2010...

    Diablo II came out in 2000, thus if we stick with the new game every 12 year trend we come up with 2012 for the beta/launch?

    They also announced Warcraft Adventures and Starcraft: Ghost somewhere in the late 90's.

    Basically, it's Blizzard. They'll take their sweet time, and when it finally comes out it's probably going to be amazing. BlizzCon is in October this year. I've heard rumor it'll probably come out shortly after that, like their newest WoW Expansion, Cataclysm, came out about 6 weeks after last years BlizzCon.

    It seems trendy to constantly delay highly anticipated games. Take Bioware's Star Wars Old Republic, for example. It was supposed to be launched in late 2009. Now it has been pushed back to the end of this year and the nerds in the know at Gamestop have told me that they don't expect it to come out before next Spring. I think these games are initially given impossible release dates just to build hype and make people believe that they're getting a super-polished product when it finally does come out.

    Besides, Blizzard has the reputation of being the slowest game publisher around, so a five-year buildup is pretty standard.

    Sure Blizzard take forever to release games. However it is worth the wait almost every time. Be thankful that there are still game developers out there that refuse to release rushed, half ass versions.

    blizzard makes very few games. The reason for this is because they want to give out the best product possible. There are a ton of game companys that rush out games that have potential but they turn up being shitty. Blizzard does it right.

    Also they make a shit tone of money from W O W so they do give a shit about how long it takes.

    There's a theory that they don't want D3 to cannibalize WoW, which is still going strong.

    But yeah I have never wanted a game so bad. I'm going to marathon the shit out of poker when release nears so I can dedicate a few months to nothing but DIABLO 3.

    I remember how much time it seeped out of my life to get my Barbarian up to Level 96, and I can't wait to start bashing shit again. There never has been a better game than D2. The sad thing about Blizzard's games nowadays is that you have to essentially have a custom computer with a +$300 graphics card to run them properly. Have been eagerly anticipating this game for a long time. I honestly believe it is only corporate strategy that is holding it up because with the amount of money and time they have had even hyper-anal Blizzard could've released a finished product already. They haven't released a Beta to the public yet, but rest assured there is an army of Beta tester within the company that have been working hard for over a year and posting feedback on secret company forums.

    An announcement about the start time for the beta test is expected in the Q1/2011 Activision/Blizzard conference call, scheduled to take place in early May, 2011.

    theyre creating an auction house for the game. I dont know if i like the idea or not. Also they said there are not skill point or attributes distribution which is a big change from previous versions. New gameplay video makes the game look super cartoonish... i hope that was just this version.

    micro-transactions became what they were when diablo 2 and everquest items were going on ebay for hundreds of dollars. So of course in diablo 3 they are going to incorporate it to make even more money. Though after how lackuster lich king and cataclysm were they actually owe all of us a donation of leet diablo gear, not try to bleed us for another dime.

    buuut i hate the fact that your skills are given to you, seems like there wont be too many different ways to build your character.

    There are stones that have abilities that have different power levels and can be combined with other stones to create other abilities which also vary depending on the power levels of the 2 stones.

    I used to play diablo II like it was my life, i played Hardcore Ladder USEAST. Made like 15,000$ one year selling stuff on ebay(no longer allowed to sell virtual items). My char name was JoHnZ lool

    Tppk, dueling, mfing, xpin, and duping! Merc dupe glitch made me tons of dough. Ladder races were awesome. got to 98 on my sorc using no hacks/chicken. ohhhh woowww i miss d2 :(

    appalled at that video... I know it is a huge fallacy to say that you need sick revolutionary graphics on a new game for it to be good but come on.

    How can you spend 10 years on a sequel that has 3rd person boardgame view with graphics literally on the same exact level as WoW which came out 8 years ago? How can anyone living in 2011 that doesn't have the D2 nostalgia give a flying fuck about this game? Looks awful, sorry.

    That said, I will most likely toss up the money and give it a shot and won't be surprised if I end up liking it.

    The more I see about this game the more I feel like vorhees does. People that have stock graphics cards shouldnt expect to play a newer, popular and developed game like this should be
