Dont really understand why Condit would take this.
-
Condit's manager said earlier Tuesday that he would wait for GSP. I wonder what Dana did to get him to take the rematch. Definitely risky move.
And why does Nick Diaz keep getting second chances? He has a sick ground game but spends all of his time throwing weak jabs and running his mouth. He's been protected from strong wrestlers. He should have to beat Koscheck to get another shot. -
I am sure condit was offered a big payday to take the fight. Hopefully nick learns how to cut off the cage in the rematch. Dana knows the big ppv numbers diaz condit 2 will bring in. Hope Carlos shuts up all the dumb ass diaz nuthuggers once and for all.
-
I have been watching MMA for years. I would love for someone to explain to me how Diaz lost the 1st, 2nd or 5th round. I do agree that the tide turned in the 3rd and 4th in favor of Condit, but after watching this fight 4 times now, I still dont see anything but Diaz winning 1,2 and 5.
-
It was a very close fight. It could of gone either way. I had condit winning rounds 3, 4, and 5. The rear naked and ARM bar attempt and the end of round 5 was not even close to submitting condit. Round 2 was also close.
-
Because having 0 aggression but landing more strikes in terms of fadeaway leg kicks > controlling every second of the 1st 2 rounds and landing punches to the face.....duh.

Diaz won the 5th, it was the only time in the fight that it was on the verge of getting finished. Diaz with a takedown, a body triangle on your back and then transitioning to an arm bar > fadeaway leg kicks and fuck you for even thinking otherwise. -
Condit only landed 50 more strikes, and smashed the record for the most legs kicks ever landed in a ufc fight. You diaz nut huggers crack me up. Condit going to retire his cry baby ass yet again this summer.
-
I like condit...just not the version we saw in that fight, which was 99% different than the condit we saw in the past 30 fights. He adjusted his gameplan drastically to win via points, not to be the natural born killer we're used to seeing. And to top it off, he said in every interview that it was going to be a war, fight of the year, not going to stop til he can't move anymore, etc....well that was never gonna be the case carlos with the gameplan you knew you were going to implement....so whatever, if you don't mind being lied to, don't mind a guy doing everything he can not to lose and just enough to win, don't mind 0 effort towards finishing a fight, then whatever, fuck you.
This is why people like bj penn, the diaz bros, wanderlei silva, etc have such huge fan bases. They don't fight to win, they fight to fight. -
Edited By: Milo Feb 8th, 2012 at 07:55 PMDana called Wells-Fargo and sent a truckload of cash over to Condit's house. He met the truck in the driveway shortly after breakfast and started throwing brick after brick of Benjamins onto Condit's lawn until Carlos said yes. What sealed the deal was Dana dropping trou and busting loose with a stirring rendition of "Your the Tops".Originally Posted by BMad524

100% troof . . . I heard it fromn a guy.
Oh, and Condit wins the rematch, too . . . after which Nicky can re-retire. -
Hopefully Condit negotiated to get at least Diaz type money for the rematch instead of the 55k show and 55k win bonus he got. Diaz got 200k to show.
-
Alright! A rematch of a painfully boring fight!
-
And now it appears to be off . . . I guess Nick really doesn't need this shit.

Man Diaz got so much more than that. Those disclosed pay figures are just for tax reporting; they get huge locker room "bonuses" (I'd be surprised if they aren't part of the contracts, or at least contracted verbally to avoid a paper trail) that they deposit straight into their offshore bank accounts.

Diaz was rumored to get paid upwards of $1M for the fight, which I wouldn't doubt based on the amount of hype the guy is able to generate for a fight. -
Drug test or injury are the reasonable explanations. Why would you turn down a #1 contender fight?
-
I am hearing also that he pissed hot. With his extremely low body fat, he must have smoked relatively close to the fight, if the rumors are true.
-
I have yet to see this on any real mma site, would not shock me of course i mean he does smoke but normally its out of his system by text time, but i have taken well over 200 drug test and used marijuana for 20 years i know its quite easy to clean yourself and still have some fat cells stored thc and fail no matter how good of job cleaning yourself you did.
-
isn't the consensus that marijuana makes you slow and dumb? how is pot a PED?
-
only possible argument is that it numbs the pain, or could help as a painkiller during training (other certain painkillers are banned in training).
imo it's bullshit and weed should be okay; he's got a medical marijuana card in Cali, I don't get why he doesn't approach the commission ahead of time and just get it cleared.
Keizer confirming later today that Diaz pissed hot for weed -
Well its now official. Diaz tested positive for Mary Jane. On the front page of mms junkie.
-
I wanna say he has tried in the past but the commission wouldnt allow it.

Just dumb in this day and age for anyone to give a shit if someone legally smokes pot.
-
"The drug is banned because of the damage it does to the person taking it," said Keith Kizer, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive officer. "It could make you lethargic, slow your reflexes, and those are dangerous things in a combat sport."

LOL HE'S NOT BLAZED DURING THE FIGHT HOLY FUCK I HATE PEOPLE
-
Whatever, aside from the fact that Diaz is probably gonna be banned for a year, this only makes him more of a baller.
