not the first time it's happened either, he gogoplatad takanori gomi back when it was still a big deal and it's listed as a no contest on his record, one of the best fights ever too, google it.

"My point is, most people in the MMA world probably don’t care that he smokes weed. It’s not giving him an unfair advantage over his opponents, and it isn’t jeopardizing his health. I suppose you could argue that it makes him a poor role model for kids, but no more than fighters who like to knock back a few too many adult beverages at the after-parties, and certainly not more than those who abuse use steroids or other performance-enhancers (not to mention, Nick Diaz is your kid’s role model? If so, you’ve got bigger issues coming your way real soon)." -

Fuck it he retired anyways. Maybe he just tried of not smoking, I have a medical card as well and live in a state that allows it sorely for this reason(only reason i even have a id in washington state)
He made enough money brought a house probably has a nice stash growing(99 plants in north cal) he has a big name and can get good money teaching at his brother's school and live comfortably without all the bullshit mma rules.
I get it Nick, I finally get it..... Fuck MMA and there bullshit rules you got your money and never took the ass beating they kept promising was coming. Sit out, smoke out, run some, swim some have fun come back in a year or too and make another million cause UFC needs you more then you need it. -

Whatever anyones opinion on weed is, he knows that if he smokes, he risks getting caught and banned. F Diaz imo

While you are correct it is still a dumb rule. It isn't performance enhancing so their should be no "state interest" in testing for it since it doesnt affect the credibility of the sport.
-
Not the point though. I'm not gonna feel bad for a guy who knowingly breaks a rule regardless of how dumb the rule is. He has made the choice to be a fighter, and with that choice comes rules to follow. All he had to do was keep the bong out of his hands for a few days.

I feel bad for UFC since it isn't their rule. Government should have no role here.
