  1. I was on the phone with a knowledgable sports fan friend of mine yesterday, and he laughed at me when I talked about how the other guys choked away the Buick Invitational yesterday in La Jolla, CA to him. Guys were falling by the way side making bogeys, double bogeys and Tiger was given back the lead it seemed. For those who watched, was this another Tiger win on Sunday or did the other guys blow chunks all over themselves?
  2. Why are we discussing an event that happened in June?

  4. well both, Tiger had the lowest round of the day at 66, but also the guys he was competing with excluding Charles Howell III were rookies basically, some Buckle guy, Snedeker, and a third guy haven't been in that position much so Tiger took advantage as always.
  5. So by your theory junsie, it was like JohnnBax taking advantage of a bunch of OT'ers at a final table?

  7. I wouldn't say OTers necessarily b/c there's some very experienced OT players, but Johnny Bax against a bunch of guys at their 1st or 2nd final table yeah
  8. obv tiger is such a dominant force down the stretch that other players in contention think they have to make back to back to back birdies, and their aggression is the reason why theyre failing.

Tiger is at the point in his career that he doesnt necessarily beat you w/ his talent, but beat you w/ his mental game.
  9. comes down to a cpl of things I think.

    -the fear of Tiger.

-900k+ first place. For everyone ,but Tiger that is massive money.( for the guys that was top 6)

-winning a PGA event-.. for 3 or 4 of those guys they had never won. Being that close gives u the yips. Heck even the guys with 1 win, it has to be massive pressure.
Same in poker ,guys that have been there before know what to do. But if this is close to your first win, well we all know what that was like. Now magnify that by a shit ton.
  10. There are a few different "Buick" sponsored golf events during the year.
  11. The fear of Tiger? What... is he going to go Chuck Norris on their ass or something?

  12. I know, i was just poking fun for him listed Buick OPEN in his original title. I knew he was talking about the invitational, but just wanted to bust his balls since he tries to do it to others all the time.
  13. lol yep in typical DW fashion edited the original title
  14. Some of both, but Tiger did put up 66. Some of those pin placements were not very accessible.
  15. My boy Troy Matteson fell apart like a little girl. He was blowing chunks into the wind. a 76 on the final day OUCCCCCCCH. Still look out for him this year. I think he will have a stellar year. He has 37 starts and 1 PGA victory which is not to shabby. But only time will tell.
  16. EVERYONE lost to tiger he is so inside of their heads it isnt even funny when he gets close they fall apart

this isnt meant to take anything away from how well he played
  17. golf is similar to poker in that you can cash freqeuntly in big live tourneys and never win but make a hell of a living if you consistently do that. gl to your boy! just get on tv and those sponsor dollas roll in. we don't even know what most dudes make on that stuff but more than we think.
  18. imagine playing the 18th hole tied with tiger. what's going thru your head? 'how is this guy going to beat me? this guy is going to bounce it off a tree facing the other way and onto green within 2 feet I bet.' next thing you know you chilidip it into the water. tiger then hits a solid layup but then chips within two feet for birdie and you are done. he didn't have to do anything, you do it for him because you KNOW he CAN and HAS done it before. he saves his big game for real studs like phil mickelson or anyone who doubts him out loud.
  19. A little from column A, a little from column B
