Me and a friend both have DirecTV. If one of us orders the sunday ticket, can we just take the card out of the box and move it to the other box so we can watch sunday ticket at either house? Or would we have to swap boxes? Or is not possible?
Edit: I don't want know if its legal or not. Just want to know if it will work. -
I've defended people sued by DirecTV for stealing their services. Not saying this would be stealing, but may be a violation of their terms of service. If you think it might be okay call them and ask. I think the answer would be, no. They want your buddy to buy it too.

Willywoo is tall, for that fact alone, i'd believe him
edit and no you have to take the whole box -
Damn straight. I took a deposition the other day and opposing counsel claimed I was intimidating the witness. "How so?" I asked. "Your size intimidates her." He says.
Sorry not much I can do about that, except maybe skip a few meals. The witness laughs. Things got messy after that. -
no man, the new cards are married to each individual box now, what you can do though is take the whole box to your friends and watch it on your box at his house. You can't change out cards the way you used to be able to.
I live in Ga and take my box to my mom's when i visit so i can watch baseball/football while there, she lives in AL. Works fine but it's my locals while i'm there instead of hers. -
Thanks ginwilly

So let me get this straight........ If I have 4 boxes in my house, I could swap 2 of the 4 with a buddy of mine who also has 4 boxes and he now has 2 boxes that will alow him to watch the ticket and I still have 2 tv to watch it on? Or can't they both be on at same time at different locations?
-
yep, you could do that. Direct TV will upgrade boxes for free from time to time to make sure you have the boxes you say you have to keep people from putting extra ones in their house and "loaning" 1 to a friend.

Each card is married to the box. You can take the box and bring it anywhere that a dish is set up. The box auto downloads once a month at 2 or 3am to download PPV purchases. If the box is not hooked to a landline at your house they can turn the box off until you call them and download your card info. It rarely happens anymore that they turn the box off but it's only a phone call to get turned back on.
