Compliments make me feel uncomfortable.

Compliment may be
- <LI>An expression of praise, congratulation or encouragement.</LI> <LI>The correct respectful actions paid to a superior, such as saluting an officer in the armed forces.</LI> <LI>"Compliments", a song by Bloc party from their 2005 album Silent Alarm</LI>

bashing Allen Iverson every chance I get makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

for my fragile self....then yes :(

I had a rough life of years of my adoptive bitch mom telling me I was worthless. I'm pretty much one of those that can't take compliments well. I have been with my hubby for over 12 years now and still can't take his.

mostly this.
I have a very self-deprecating style of humor and that is the main way I talk to people in casual social settings. Most of my good friends are like this as well even though we are all pretty egotistical. This is all good fun until I say something like "yeah kate broke with me...I don't know, I think she just came to the point in her life where she decided to stop making bad decisions." A mildly funny dig at myself is then sometimes, depending on who I am hanging out with, followed by an afterschool intervention of "keylight you're great, you sell yourself short..." and it's uncomfortable for myself and everybody else.
In formal settings like work or school I take compliments neutrally because, as of now, I don't take pride in anything I am doing so people telling me that I do it well means nothing to me. -
Aww, you're a nice person.

(Not, in fact, we all fucking hate you. Go take your inability to take a compliment and fucking change your outfit 20 more times before we go out. Even though you looked good in the last 15 that you tried on)
*sarcasm -
