  1. I need an antenna stabilized for a large business client of ours. Here's the dealy, when it gets windy his antenna will flop around and he loses his signal he needs. For some reason this does not happen to other clients. I have tried everything....

If you can find me a pic or an idea of something that might stabalize this cocksucker I will ship you 30 bones. if your idea works I will ship you 40 more in the next couple weeks.

The antenna looks kinda like this one, though it is a touch bigger. It is mounted on a 2" ridged conduit (the mount, base does not move, just the cocksucking antenna) . I can not put holes in it.....

Please fookin help me before I go throw his equipment in the lake....

  5. I was actually thinking about heading over there with reynolds wrap but I would rather not be that God Damn Mickey Mouse. Duct tape won't work

As the saying goes... "If you can't fix it with duct tape, it ain't worth fixin!"
  7. It's probably catching wind resistance that the conduit cannot support.

    Build a conduit tripod.

    Keep the money.
  8. It is on a tripod.. It's in Michigan, you have to keep it raised so the snow does not cover it. Again, I spent 6 hours just building the mount, that turd won't move.

  9. Fine then build a wind tunnel out of sheet metal redirecting the wind away from the thing, could be done for less than $80 if you can weld, which I assume you can if you live in MI.
  10. I would like to weld your lips together smartass....

  11. Can the antenna be enclosed beneath dome like structure?

  12. Four pieces of thick wire, wired to the mount (where those holes are) pulled tight, to four anchors you drill in. It will put tension in all directions stabalizing it.

My parents lived in Mt Pleasant and their direct tv had to have it done for that same reason. Worked like a charm.

Looked sort of like you see them staking trees they plant. Used eye hooks for the anchors.
  13. Amy, I have actually thought about that but again, I really can't drill holes in it. I will keep your idea in mind while I'm out there next time though.

  17. 4 rods total.

1 rod back left, 1 rod front left.

same on right side. Hammer them into his roof. Have it so it is snug up agianst the plate thingy. Tell him to fuck off about his roof. Either he wants good reception or he wants a roof that doesnt have shit nailed into it.

Tell him next time get someone else to wash his vag.

I was thinking basically this. Except dont drill into it.

Put little "L bracket" things onto the back and attatch the wire to those. Welding the brackets on to the back of the thing would obv be best, but if not, I imagine some high stretch adhesive (epoxy maybe?) would do the trick.

I gave up trying to find a pic of wtf im talking about but I know I would be able to find it easily if I walked into a home depot or some shit. I made this quick mspaint cause google image was pissing me off.

I think u know what im talking about. When you buy it from the store it comes in this shape but its like 4 feet long. Just cut the piece, drill a hole and attach to the back on each corner. Then use the wire to attach to the base.
  19. Jaybone, strut with L bracket?

    Thread Starter
  20. You shouldn't need to drill. THe post that holds the actual antenna has holes in it where you tighten to adjust the antenna doesn't it? Use those to fasten the wire to.
  21. yea thats basically the same idea, and that would most likely be a lot easier to weld. Not sure if weight matters tho, as four of those would end up being pretty heavy on the back of a dish.
  22. angle iron... thats the name of it.

comes like this when you buy it.

  23. anchor 2x8 to roof... onside of 2x8 screw 2 pieces of 1x2 the height of the antenna on both sides you will build a cage around it and it wont move...
  24. It sounds like your getting some form of harmonic wind vibration, I would try some form of wind dam, it will change the dynamics of the wind. Thats why others dont have the problem. Our you would have to reposition the stand at a different location/angle to change the dynamics of the wind.
  25. hrmmm...

    1. I can't drill in roof (at this location). Must be "non penetrating"

    2. I am much higher at other locations. At this one I am on a story turd and the antenna can't move a centimeter like it can at other locations.

Amy, I can't remember if my brackets have holes like the one in the picture or not. I will take note when I go look at it next time.

A wind dam? I don't work for NASA dude....

Wrap wire around the pole and fasten it with wire clamps?

P.S. You got my brain thinking about this dumb shit and i hate you for it.
  27. Like you gots better shit to do... Happy hours already over.
