Never had the "Black Friday" experience before. I'm at my Mom's. Bored. So I decide to venture out to the local Walmart & see what all the fuss was about. Not only do we have to park half a mile from the store, but before we even get out of the car my Aunt hands out walkie-talkies (she claims service can be "spotty" in this Walmart) and a list of "doorbuster deals" with each of our initials next to an item. Indication number one that shit might get a little crazy.
As soon as I walk in there's a huge commotion near a pallet stacked with microwaves. I see two women yelling & physically punching each other over a microwave. Security ran over & pulled them apart as everyone else just stood there in disbelief. I tried snapping a pic but didn't get my phone out in time.
I turned around & left. Sitting in the car now. Those people are crazy. -

I have not and will not go shoping on black friday, xmas shoping is to be done on dec 23 and 24.
Wife and her best friend have been shoping since 9pm -

I guess since we are in a small town (only 5,000 population) shit doesn't get nearly as crazy here, but this is the first Black Friday in 4 years that I haven't camped out for something. There just aren't any really great deals IMO (except Best Buy has a front load washer and dryer for $1k but I don't need either of those.0 I will say that the experience itself is half the fun, combined with getting a great deal on some things. Of course, if you're going to be shopping somewhere that you have to worry about getting trampled by the crowd, I'd advise against it.

I go with a buddy of mine to best buy at like 6am after the huge crowd goes away and pick up some DVDs every year... I usually just stay up til then, it's not too bad.

I've never done Black Friday, but this thread makes me want to just roam around stores right now. Got a feeling in Livingston Parish, Louisiana...the local Walmarts have to be pretty fucking epic right now.

Meh, I stayed in and ended up getting the Amazon PS3 bundle for $299. Got the PS3, Uncharted 2, some other game from the PS Network and a $25 video game credit for Amazon. No tax, free shipping, no waiting in line.

I made my yearly $9.99 Entourage purchase on amazon but I had to go to Walmart to get this shop vac they had for $15, it wasn't that bad though, some old ladies let me cut them in line since I only had one item

I'm about to go to Best Buy. This will be the first time I've done the Black Friday thing and I'm pretty skeptical. I hate lines and I hate grumpy ass people, so this is probably not the best situation, but I'm trying to save $500 on a TV, not $10 on a toaster--THAT'S psycho.

Not around here racist, it's all mexicans our walmarts are seriously packed with mexicans so bad you watch the news and they ask a random shop about what they are buying and they need a interpretor half the time.
