If that's the case and we need to focus on the tax code itself I'd guess voting for Romney would be the worst thing you could do. Doubt he has any problem with the way it's set up.

I wish people would focus on the real problem here, which is the tax code itself, rather than focusing on one wealthy individuals return that was released because he happens to be running for president. If there is something in there he did that is illegal then I'll be right there with you criticizing him and calling for appropriate legal action. But until there is evidence of him breaking any laws he is just doing what everybody does, rich or poor, which is pay the minimum amount of taxes they are legally required to. -
But but then some people would actually pay taxes and not get back more than they paid in. How is that fair?

I like the flat tax idea, it seems to make a lot of sense. But I personally like the 'Fair Tax' idea better just because its so different and i would love to see it in action to see if it actually works.

If you really want the level the playing field, impose a flat tax of all income at 15%. No deductions. Everyone files a personal return regardless of who you may be shtooping.

I like the fair, flat tax of zero percent. -
A flat tax would dramatically widen the gap between rich and poor while requiring drastic cuts in spending. If that's what you want, cool story bro
-
This would only work if you can also repeal the 16th amendment. Otherwise you will eventually be paying both taxes.
-
flat tax of zero sounds good. If we had to blaze a trail with a machete every time it rained in order to get to the store maybe Americans wouldn't be so fat
-
I have no intention of voting for Romney (Gary Johnson ftw!) and his tax plan is just one of many reasons. He is talking a big game about eliminating loopholes and lowering the overall rates in his campaign but I'm not buying it. As Obama loves to point out the math just doesn't add up. My point was that it's stupid to hate on him because of his tax return when it's the system that's the problem. Basically what I'm saying is don't hate the player hate the game.
-
I got the point you were trying to make. I agree completely. I just saw an oppurtunity to try and get some Romney supporters on here mad.
-
I can't even imagine how bad the economy would be if you took 15 percent from the working poor that are part of the 47 percent now. Do people really think the economy would get better?
I think we leave the tax rates mostly where they are now (add Buffett rule and half the proposed hike on families making over 250k) and lop a bunch off spending (which will no doubt hurt growth as well). -
lol fair enough. I really just wanted to make it clear that I am not a Romney supporter.
-
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
-
LMAO at this logic. Kidnappers are pouring over his tax returns. No wait I have this cousin in Nigeria who works at a bank, maybe Mitt would help him get some unclaimed money into the country!
-
Yeah... amazing anything got built in this country prior to the income tax.
-
The money will be spent by someone. The question is whether that someone should be private individuals or the government. Only one path leads to growth.

Didn't you hear? Rich people hide there money in the mattress and thus it never gets used. That's why we have to tax them and spend it for them. -
yeah after looking back at what i read and your link i should not have said everyone in the past
-
Mods plz merge with Fast and Furious (greatest scandal since Watergate!) Thread.

It's not as big of a cluster fuck as the Iranian hostage crisis, but the fact that there was a terrorist attack on US sovereign soil kinda is a big deal. Every administration makes mistakes, it just so happens this one occurred at the worst possible time for President Obama.

So am I supposed to blame Bush for 9-11. Guess I've been doing it wrong all these years
-
No. Acts of terror during GOP administrations are national tragedies and reminders that the evil doers want to do us harm.

Acts of terror during DEM administrations are proof of incompetence and weakness.

Aug 30, 2006: Omeed Aziz Popal kills 1 and injures 17 in SUV rampage that began in Fremont, CA, and ended at the Jewish Community Center of SF.
Dec 22, 2006: Derrick Shareef’s "violent jihad" attack on an Illinois shopping mall disrupted by feds.
Feb 12, 2007: Sulejman Talović opens fire at the Trolley Square Mall in Salt Lake City, killing 5, injuring 4, while shouting "Allahu Akbar!"

Under Berry we have FT. Hood, officially an incident of workplace violence not terrorism....

Romney/Obama dead heat in MI, fucking Michigan. gg berry

Funny, because the grenade attack on the 101st wasn't an act of terror either. Simply yet another national tragedy and proof that we all have to stay strong and listen to our commander in chief during a time of war (unless he's a Democrat. Then fuck him!).

A flat tax of zero. That's just greedy and fucking sooooooooo. .......stupid.
Then again, that's probably what they have in say.......Antarctica. Go there!!
