Fox News: The Muppets Are Brainwashing Your Kids Against Capitalism
Edited By: jay_bear Dec 6th, 2011 at 12:03 AM
http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment...ism.html?imw=YCertain anchors over at Fox, along with one eager representative from the Media Research Center, feel that the movie's villain — evil oil executive Tex Richman, played by Chris Cooper — will teach children that drilling is bad and communism is good.

I thought it was funny a couple months ago when someone hacked the Sesame Street YouTube page and replaced all the videos with softcore porn.
-
Fox has been dead against the muppets ever since Bert and Ernie came out of the closet.
-
i saw it last week and not gonna lie after i saw that part i was like 'no way republicans backed this movie'
-
yea, but the bad guy gives the muppets back their theater anyway, so what's so bad about the business guy anyway?
honestly, it was the worst out of all the muppet movies, and its almost a shame that Disney ruined Henson's life's work so quickly. -

Worse than Muppets From Space? Color me doubtful. -
Great movie and the oil tycoon analogy never even popped in my head.
A few people at fox must have a lack of stories to come up with this shit -
meh, doesn't mean anything to me
I didn't say it was a bad movie, just worse than anything done in Henson's lifetime. I discount anything done after his death as almost all of it was subpar compared to when he was living.
Movies done while Henson was living:
- The Muppet Movie (1979)
- The Great Muppet Caper (1981)
- The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984)
- The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
- Muppet Treasure Island (1996)
- Muppets from Space (1999)
- It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie (2002)
- The Muppets' Wizard of Oz (2005)
- The Muppets (2011)
By the way, I saw all of the list that contains movies made in his lifetime in a movie theater. -
I didn't know there were any between Space and this one. I haven't seen the film but am glad they are trying to keep the muppets relevant.
-
Of course not. I don't want my kids to see me jack off.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
This is one of the best things I've ever watched. Good god...its like a Colbert or Onion News segment, only real -
Not really too worried about the muppets teaching my children. I was able to rise above an oppressive public school education, and learn how morally evil abusive government is. if you can combat the evils of government education, then a left leaning hollywood shouldn't be a problem.
-
Really? they call that news? wtf! I mean I don't disagree, the character is definitely slanted to draw critcism against the oil industry. But that was the most pathetic excuse for debate I've ever seen.

yea, you sound like things turned out just right and you got it all figured out

I always imagined fozzie bear as an alcoholic. I hope this movie captured that vision.

Probably the first time Pluv's and Supremo's thoughts have been reconcilable. -
