this guy is from there
-
I went there once when I was about 5 years old. The only thing I remember is riding a horse and getting stung by multiple bees. I don't have fond memories of Door County, WI.
-
pm lameass...he's from that general area (a few hours away, but could probably still give you some ideas).
I haven't been there in a couple years, but I remember Washington Island and Egg Harbor being pretty cool. I've got some friends that teach in some of the districts very close and some are the hunt/fish type and others the shop/be gay type. You can definitely find stuff you and your wife will enjoy. -
im from Wis but have never been to Door county. However, the only people i know that seem to enjoy door county are middle aged women.
-
its all about apple river for the 4th of july in wisconsin imo
-
Yeah. If your 16, don't mind swimming in 50% of the water being other peoples' piss, like to cut your feet on broken bottles and deal with a bunch of drunk assholes to see a few underage titties and old hippies fucking.
-
they don't allow you to bring glass on the river. i can understand the whole "piss in the water" and "old hippies fucking", but if you get really trashed (which is the whole reason why you are there in the first place) that shit don't even bother you. its fun as hell! what is in door county anyways?

Me and my crew went to apple river every year from age 16-24... Same weekend every year, always the most craziest times.

The first year we went we got in like 10 fights, saw fat chicks eating each other out on the river, a buddy got kicked out of the campground, got lost then arrested, I cut the shit out of my foot doing backfilps off bridges, picked up a ton off sluts that ran around and got naked and fucked the whole time...
Needless to repeat but we went back for like 8 straight years... Solid times. -

The woman's family is from Green Bay, and it is where the ppl from Chicago and Eastern WI go for the "woodsy, lake cabin" vacations. We were up there over Memorial Weekend with a couple of friends and didn't find shit to do other then bike through the state park. It is a touristy, little shop garbage area,(Northern Wisconsin) but I want the chill, lax, do some fishing, and watch some fireworks, holiday weekend.

summerfest anyone?

If you like to fish Door County is for you! The salmon fishing is almost always excellent up there and they have great smallmouth bass fishing as well. For salmon go on a charter boat out of sturgeon bay(south end of peninsula), or gills rock(northern most port on peninsula). In past years I've limited out on 20+ pounders out of gills rock. Sturgeon bay is also excellent though and you can stick 20+ pounders there too. There's also a Kewaunee/D.C. salmon tourney around the 4th of July iirc. There's also PLENTY of shopping and artsy fartsy crap to do for the lady. Make sure you go to breakfast at Al Johnson's too in sister bay, excellent swedish pancakes and swedish meatballs. You can't miss it, the place with a grass roof and goats on it!
