    When I worked at Blockbuster (brag that I got 5 free movies a week), you were specifically told time and time again to never put yourself in danger. That included fighting back. If we were ever held up, you were told to comply with whatever demands. If someone was shoplifting and you spotted them, you had to tell the manager and you were never allowed to chase or approach. They actually had it in their CSR material that they handed out that confrontation of a customer could result in termination.

    didn't realize a shoplifter was considered a customer.
