Call me crazy but Dallas losing that game to the skinz might be a good thing. Everyone knows that the NFC is the SEC of the NFL. All 4 teams are capable of beating each other and 3 of the teams have legitimate shots at making playoffs. All 4 might finish with +500 records. That means there is a chance that Dallas vs Skins could happen 3 times and there is no way in hell Dallas would beat Washington 3 times or vice versa. I take that loss as a plus. It humbled Big D alot.

Philly is a damn good team and they are the weakest in the Div....
-
That is exactly how I feel about it. This team did not need to be going undefeated late into the season.

i'm so glad the skins lost to the giants in week 1. i didn't have to worry about them being undefeated this year. winning divisional games is so overrated that i'm really happy they're only 2-1. -
you can....spin it anyway you want but....losing a division....game at home is never....a good thing....ever....and looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....l at "and good luck when we come to DC....you're gonna need it..."
-
I was merely agreeing with the poster above me who said that loss could be good for the Cowboys long term this season, and I agree. Dallas found out last year that winning division games and the division itself didn't matter in the long run.
Here is what the market thinks of the NFC East right now... like I said, good luck when Dallas comes to DC... given how they have owned the Redskins in recent years prior to the last game, you're gonna need it....

I didn't expect the Cowboys to go undefeated. I circled 4 games on the schedule that I thought would be tough. Philly and Washington early in the season were two of those. I figured with the number of new *stars* that we have on defense, that there would be some struggles early on in the season.
That was a helluva game and Washington dominated on both sides of the ball. My hats off to you guys. That being said, I think the race for the NFC East is between Dallas and the Gnats. It's just a matter of time before Cambell starts blowing games. I'd say Washington will finish 3rd in the NFC East and make the playoffs. -
repost

lol at a division home loss being good. i just can't understand where that idea comes from. it is, however, true that the regular season won't matter much to the cowboys since they'll lose their first playoff game again. but an inability to win in the playoffs doesn't mean that any regular season loss is ok and good for the team.
"given how they have owned the Redskins in recent years prior to the last game, you're gonna need it...."
um, you must be talking about the 5-2 record the skins have against the cowboys over the last 3.5 seasons -
Wade Phillips clearly had the foresight to know that he should tank the last game vs. the Redskins at Texas Stadium because it would lift the teams morale and in fact decrease the Redskins confidence. Losing the game clearly gives Dallas the upperhand and infact means the Redskins will never beat the Cowboys again, ever.... Sick Metagame Wade Phillips.... WP..... makes sense
-
haha, it's not metagame from the coaches perspective, and I never asked for an argument about this.. the bottom line about that game is, as a fan thinking about metagame, I was ok if they lost it..... I wasn't rooting to lose the game.... but the point of my initial response was that it could be a good thing for this particular team given the dynamics of what happened last yr in the playoffs, etc.... geeesh you guys really want an argument!
-
first off, lol at talking crap about recent playoff games when you're a cowboy fan.

but you're right, i don't get it. and i'm pretty sure only a dallas fan would try to make that argument. you guys just can't admit you lost. you obv gave that game away last week so you wouldn't be undefeated. just like you gave the week 17 game away last year. obv you didn't want to try to get any momentum going into the playoffs. i mean, momentum is unnecessary when you're going to lose in the playoffs anyway. a loss is definitely better for your playoff psyche than a win.
the giants didn't try in their week 17 game against the patriots. they decided that last game didn't matter so they gave up. it obv didn't help them in the playoffs at all.
and would you please try to explain this: given how they have owned the Redskins in recent years prior to the last game, you're gonna need it.... -
i didn't take it personally. i'm just trying to figure out how someone can think a home loss to a division rival could ever be a good thing. i find it funny that this is how cowboys' fans think.
-
Dallas is/was the best team in the NFL, and the Redskins beat them. Fuckin' RAPE in itself IMO. Then, they follow it up by beating the Eagles in Philly. That's back-to-back SUPER TOUGH games that we prevailed in. The next few weeks are cupcakes for Washington, but those are the games they tend to fuck up, historically.
Either way, the NFC East is the best division in football and I think there is a pretty decent-sized margin between whoever is the second.
Redskins >> *.*

LOL is all I can say... this team has some psyche issues from the playoff loss and regular season record doesn't mean that much, other than home-field advantage. Those who are following this team closely know that going into the playoffs undefeated would have been a huge added pressure they didn't need... an early season loss helps curb that. They have the most talent of any team in the NFL and taking an early loss can actually help them long term. If you don't get it... well, ok... move along... go worry about what will help your team in the playoffs.
