  1. I am thinking about getting an english bulldog puppy. I know they can have alot of health issues. Anyone have one? Have any good advice? Looking for a good breeder too if anyone has any suggestions.

  2. all I know is they cost a ridiculous amounts of money ($1200 and up) and you definitely want the life insurance policy you can get for them. At least thats what I have been told
  3. I have one. He hasn't had any major health issues, you just gotta make sure to keep their skin clean (literally requires you wiping the skin folds etc on a daily basis). My other advice would be, the puppy is going to require a ton of your time. I didn't play much poker when I got him because its literally like having an infant trying to get them house broken and such. Probably going to require a ton of your attention regardless because they are very needy. Can't help you on breeders, got mine from a pretty reputable breeder in Ohio with good blood lines (cost about $2,000 and I think anywhere from 15-2000 is standard for a good breed). Here's him as a pup.

Edit: As far as the "life insurance policy" stated in previous post, not certain what that means. Mine came with a guarantee from the breeder that if anything happened to him in the first year they would replace him (probably not the actual wording lol) as long as he had all his shots and it wasn't something I induced or something like that.

I bought mine about a year and a half ago from a friend of mine who just had 8 more like 5 days ago. there an awesome dog and they have sick sense of humors.
Males are harder to train then females. but you will have a shit ton of fun with a bulldog, they fart and snore just like we do! farts are worse then ours tho!

Mine is fawn colored but they didnt have any that color this time, they are mostly white with some dark brown on them! Ill try to get some pics up of them in a bit!

    oh and everything negROI said

Heres mine i emailed my buddy for the pics of the new ones

  6. English bulldogs are def more expensive and time-intensive than other dogs, but soooo worth it if you have the time and money, imo - we have two (brother and sister) - thankfully haven't had problems with him, but our girl has food allergies and sensitive skin - we also had to get eye surgery on her (her lids curled under) and may need to get surgery to fix her tail (she has a corkscrew tail that's clamped down pretty tightly) - they're absolute characters and worth all the trouble - just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into - I'd def look for a reputable local breeder
he's a fawn brindle and she's an apricot brindle

  7. A Tbsp of yogurt in their food twice a day/at feedings really cuts the smell out of their farts - also, with our girl's food allergies we've switched her to a limited ingredient duck and potato formula that's been awesome gas-wise, even with us taking the yogurt out if her diet
  8. .... tho

  9. lol the gas is pretty bad but its funny. He'll blatantly fart outloud and have no idea what it is and freaks out trying to smell his own ass or figure out where it's coming from. My main problems would be that he was hard to train (male) and if he doesn't want to do something he's probably not going to do it you just have to deal with it (strong-willed). Also, if you are in a hurry for him to do something he/she probably won't give a shit either because they are going to do it at their own pace. It was easier for me because my gf lives with me and that helps as far as the amount of attention they need (kids would probably help with this). They also take a long time to mature (mine is like a year and and 1/2 and still acts like an infant quite often). I'm hoping he has less health problems than standard english bulldogs (he is a "mini" english bulldog and is about 45lbs and pretty close to full-grown). All in all they are great dogs with unique/awesome personalities, just make sure you do your research if you do decide to get one.

  10. Always better to spend more up front for a dog from a top breeder with health guarantees than buy a dog of less quality that you will end up paying more for in vet bills in the end.Of course not always the case, but why be cheap and try to save money on what will be a family member for the next decade.

  13. thought this was gonna be about some new euro soccer team...
  14. being a vet tech i wanna tell you be ready to spend a bunch of money at the vet (3-4k a year) they always have problems but if taking care of correctly can be great dogs. Dont just jump at the first one you like either look around at a few different breeders and find one that looks to have good skin and etc. good luck tho
  15. PM sent GB
  16. Have a friend that is a vet who has talked me out of getting one several times. I am single and like to travel so I would not be able to make the time commitment. She has also stressed numerous times how important it is to get a reputable breeder and good bloodlines which will reduce the high vet costs and time commitments.
  17. I just lost my little buddy "Buster" last Friday. He was 10 years & 1 month old. Our Female "Lucy" will be 8 in August. The greatest pets that you can ever own! But not for the traveling types, or the timid. The require tons of attention. RIP "Buster The Booooodog"

He had some breathing problems and his eyes had to be cleaned out a few times a day and drops put in. Other than that, he was a wide-open Healthy Booodog Stud! lol We miss him so much. My female "Lucy" misses him too. She has been sad since he's been gone. Lucy will be 8 soon and she has been the most healthy Bulldog that I have ever been around or heard of. No problems whatsoever and we got her as a Pup in Tennessee.
  20. my aunt breeds and shows Bulldogs in Ohio. I want one badly. Just not 2k bad enough. yet. Def a great breed. Not as scary to take care of as alot of ppl think. Just takes a bit of extra work over a normal dog. Who wants normal?
