That was awesome. God bless Benzema and Ronaldo. Marcelo's goal was tight too, but a deflection and might well have been off target otherwise. Great finish from Dzeko on his goal. Toure was a man mountain, a beast that controlled the game. Hart was great, and think it was Kompany's fault on the Ronaldo goal. Absolutely gripping last 20 minutes.
  2. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! Proved one thing, older Samsung phones can still survive being thrown across room and off wall... die Ronaldo you emo pussy bitch.

What a great match, but City realistically should have had one or two more goals and the Ronaldo winner was a fucking joke from Joe Hart, most of OT makes that save. Way to leave 3 points on the table with the lead in the 85th minute in the toughest group.

Gonna go break a few more things.

And please die. You guys are gonna finish 3rd in the EPL and flame out of Champs, so maybe go back to preparing your excuses instead of fellating a couple shitheads. Marcelo's goal was going to be his 3rd blasted into the stands in 10 minutes if not for a lucky deflection, he probably fouled Yaya just before that when Yaya should have iced the game, and Ronaldo played a completely shit second half and got his goal through sheer bullshit luck. Can't say anything about Benzema though, literally perfect goal.

Ronaldo skinned Kompany several times, he just went by him at will.

City were on the backfoot for the majority of the first half, and Madrid blew several good chances - I think the result was certainly fair.

Fuck fair. Hart saved the first half as City were clearly a bit out of sorts. The game changed once Kolarov came in... and the reason Ronaldo was able to get past Kompany a couple times was that Maicon is such an obsolete defender against speedy flankers (Ronaldo, Bale, etc) that he literally never even slowed Ronaldo up as he traipsed past, allowing him a full head of steam coming at Kompany. Not even one of the best 2 or 3 centrebacks in the world is going to be much of a speed bump when the first guy just lets Ronaldo go with such consistency. Ronaldo was much less of a threat after Zabaleta came in for Maicon, and the goal was such a fluke. As was Marcelo's lucky attempt to kill the same fan in section 117, Row H for the third time in 10 minutes. As was Mancini's horrible decision to play that kid over Lescott in the center of defense against one of the world's best offenses. As was Yaya not finishing that breakaway, how often does he miss those? Oh, you mean Marcelo kicked the back of his foot as he was shooting and a ref at the Bernabeu didn't call it? Oh, how lucky.

And then Zabaleta made a sick run, embarrassed Iker, left a ball rolling across the goalmouth for anyone on both teams to poach, and... nothing. Nothing? The one moment the absence of Aguero (and Mancini's obvious complete lack of faith in Balotelli) mattered was the moment they should have iced the game for a second time.

I threw up in my mouth a little and squandered any chance at sleeping last night thanks to that finish, but they clearly left 3 points on the table. Both Madrid goals to equalize were soooo soon after the City strikes, they just let off the gas. That said, they now know they can win the Champs League. They were the better team in the second half at the Bernabeu against one of the 2 best teams in the world... but that's only a moral victory and in this group, points come at a premium. We'll see what they do against Dortmund and Ajax before I get too worried.

No need for excuses, for one. Since this team is gonna definitely win some trophies this year. And second, mighty confident of your success this year, for a team who has not done shit in Europe for forever, and had to get two 90min goals at home against 10 man QPR to win the title on goal difference, against the weakest United squad I can remember.

i got no dog in this fight. But it was abundantly clear that Madrid was the better team. There's a problem when your first opportunity to score wasn't until the 70th minute(which they scored). the entire first half and even part of the second half was completely dominated by Madrid. The game was much closer in the final minutes but you'd even be hard pressed to say man city out played madrid.

btw-not in the loop, why didnt balotelli play?
  11. ManCity is going to shit the bed this year. They almost spit the bit last season, and there is no reason to think they won't choke this year. They are an early UCL departure, or a 4 week winless streak from dumping Mancini like an OT 3.

I would never dump an OT 3 since that's a real life 9.

Abnormal, <3, but you know what it's like when fans of another team kick you when you're down and the game ended at 4:45 am on a school night. City overcame a lot of shit to win that title last year, most of which was self-inflicted (Tevez, melting down twice against Sunderland, etc)... but Tevez won that title all by himself. He put that team on his back and is probably still the best striker in the BPL when he's on form (I think Yaya is the best player in the league, and would think that if I wasn't a City fan... he made even the Real men look like boys whenever he actually finally got the ball delivered to him last night). I think the current ManU squad is great and probably good enough to get you guys a Carling Cup or something, but City still has a better squad (on paper) and Chelsea might once they get around to integrating Oscar and Marin a bit more thoroughly into the lineup.

Balotelli was out because of something Lasik-esque, but even before that Mancini seems to inexplicably prefer Dzeko as his 3rd option up top behind team Argentina. Probably because Balotelli is a walking meltdown waiting to happen, but he's an incredibly talented meltdown waiting to happen. When you have 4 of the top 20 strikers in the world, though, you're gonna be ok.

I still have literally zero idea how Manicini can justify sitting a perfectly healthy Lescott over a young kid (who is going to be very, very good in a couple years, mind you) who has never once played a match with Man City going into a huge match against Madrid. Maicon was far worse (hopefully this relegates him to Carling Cup/Southampton/QPR/Liverpool type doormats) and should never play over Zabaleta (or Micah Richards for that matter, used to love Maicon but it's not 2008 anymore).

Either way, today sucks. 3 points left on table. Sigh. Some solid matches coming up tonight though, Chelsea opens its defense etc, but now looking forward to a pissed-off City dismantling Arsenal on the weekend.
  13. Tevez isnt even the best striker at City

Yeah, I feel you, haha. And City certainly deserved the title. United had two hands around it and dropped those needless points when two goals up at home to Everton. That was a shattering result. Was pissed for days. The last day stuff sucked, but it was what was expected (Citeh beating QPR at home), even though it happened crazily.

And Jesus fucking H. Christ. What an absolutely insanely bad penalty by Nani. I know RVP had a horribad one the other week, but he more than made up for it with his hattrick. Why the fuck is he not taking that?
  17. before the second group stages someone needs to make an official champions league thread.
  18. So, what to make of Mancini slapping down HAry for his comments? The soap opera is starting a little early . . .
  19. We hate Scousers is the chant going around Anfield atm. Gooooooooo United.

Oh, and Ferdinand just injured himself, go figure.
  20. Terrible challenge by Shelvey; down to ten. Now RVP needs a hat trick so my Captain's pick comes up trumps.
  21. boom sick goal!!!
  22. Sick response
  23. Never a penalty for any other team but ManU . . .
