1. did anybody else hear mike and mike this morning advertising for skoreIt.com? its another one of those sites like swoopo.com where you pay for your bids, and the winning bid gets the item being auctioned off for like 80% off the sticker price, while the site makes like $500 off a $50 item. i was pretty surprised that espn would allow such a shady business to advertise with them. i wonder if someone didn't look into it close enough before they sealed the deal, or maybe they just don't care where the advertising dollars come from, as long as they're rolling in.

  2. I dont see how these are considered scams. I wouldn't use the site but, they are selling items for more than they paid for them. It's called capitalism. If idiots dont realize they are going to lose in the long run, that's their problem.

  3. So basically you luck out if you get the item, if you don't win you have to still pay for your bids and since a lot of people want the item lots will bid and they just rack in all this cash to makeup for the low price they actually sell it at?

  6. yea there are so many of those sites out there. i watched an auction once on one of them once and el oh el its just another form of gambling, except with shittier odds imo.
  7. i agree, goofy, about it being capitalism...i don't think it should be illegal. i just am sorta surprised espn would allow them to advertise with them.

    Must be a new one...Thierry?
  11. never heard of the site. It is weird that they would advertise for a "scam" site, but then disavow any knowledge of gambling other than simmons' columns during the football season.
  12. apparently it's still legal tho. I know a guy that owns one of these sites and he kills it. unethical? probably yea. but it's probably the same kind of people that stock up on knives from HSN, so, they weren't going to hold onto that money anyway.
