walking (this is crucial! do not drive! two words liscence plates!) down streets near your house, aproaching cars parked on the side of the street, and casually checking to see if one of the doors is unlocked, then if you are lucky enough to find one unlocked (odds are about 7-1), quickly and swiftly searching throughout it for money, drugs, stereo equipment, cell phones, electronics, wallets, purses, gift cards, (you get the idea), then taking it, quietly closing the door and moving on to the next vehicle -ive never done it
tom: hey dude im so sick of work but i need the cash for a new system for my car
joe:dude this weekend lets just go car-hopping, last time i earned over $350, got a video ipod, subs, 2 wallets, and 4 pounds of grass
tom:arent you worried you'll get caught?
joe:i'm fast and not retarded, so, no
I had never heard the term either, FWIW -
Is car-hopped a regional thing?
Never heard it before either. -

*insert AMARTIN troll response that he probably re-wrote 3-4 times trying to make sure it sounded hard enough*
This can simply be attributed to the 1.21gigawatts curse; akin to the madden curse.
Back in '09 no one knew who amartin was. For the most part he stuck to posting in NBA threads; pretty good posts I may add, and had a few funny/snarky lines and one day Giga acknowledged him as being a top poster. Ever since then we have the current amartin.
For other reads see the downfall of Railbot(Although he's making a good comeback recently)and Hughes. Both recipients of the 1.21 curse -
LOL at niceguy and basically everyone else ITT owning this fucktard.
Go the fuck back to boston please where everyone is such a tool that they don't even sell double alcoholic drinks cuz of the dumbass tough guy marky mark bullshit that's seen in every one of this clown's posts. -
Ive heard a lot of people in high school call it car hopping thats always what ive referred to it as
Fuck yea a blender. I got this glass blender that is like 3/4 inch thick and if you hit someone with that it would be ugly for them. Just defending my property tho.. Better then me walking out with a gun right? -
The fact that OP knows and uses the term "car hopping" confirms that this was an inside job and he got hit by one of his dbag car hopping acquaintances, ldo
-
god just shut up
-
Break you own blender? Just use a big rock,
Both can be the murder weapon. But at least you can still make smoothies until you go to jail if you use a rock instead. -
Thats the thing, its so thick no way it breaks. And do i really have time to find a big rock once i go outside and confront whoever it is and then chase them and then hit them or throw it at them? NOOOOO way thats possible gotta come out already wielding the blender. Not trying to murder anyone thats crazy but what if i come outside and its a 6' 5 270lb dude fuck im 5' 9 how am i supposed to stop that guy from stealing from me? Gotta be ready for anything Jay.
-
I hope the stakeout happens and works and we can get a trip report. I'd love to hear the cops reaction when you tell them you were setting up would be robbers and "defended your property" with a blender.
-
TL / DR . . . this entire thread could be summed up thusly . . .
OP you were a moron to leave anything of value in your car.
\thread. -
Apparently car hopping is spreading like a disease. Though not mentioned by it's cool name, todays story from our local online news confirms we should not leave valuables in our cars.

"The suspects are checking residential areas for unlocked vehicles and checking for anything of value. If the keys are in the ignition, the vehicle is sometimes taken as well." -
People arent acting like this is a new thing is it?
The most gangster car theft I know of was freshman year of college. It was move-out day. Kid on my floor had his parents there and everyone was running back and forth loading shit into their SUV. Apparently they just left the keys in the car, and then the one time they came up, the car was gone when they got back. Couldnt have been longer then 10 minutes. And it was in broad day light, in front of about 50 other families. Pretty boss imo. -

thats the nicest thing uve ever said about me, u hick bastard. -
when we parked down the street by geno's the other day, I took all my valuables with me, instead of leaving them in the car. I still didn't feel safe, but figured the odds of a smash n grab were bigger than a robbery.
