Matthew Collum If people think that a little government here and a little government there doesn't mean that the governments going to end up controlling society... look at what happened economically.
Matthew Collum.... and I'm even economically liberal.
Matthew Collum IT IS STILL NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE THOUGH!! NOT YET!
Matthew Collum "Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington
Matthew Collum.... I think I'm now truly a Democratic Libertarian as far as a party goes. I used to love what FDR did for the country, but at the same time it wasn't his programs that pulled us out of the Depression, it was World War II. A war where we fought for the rights of humanity, and a war that changed the entire perception of the Jewish people. Now Islam is being attacked just like the Jewish were. Government does not protect us unless we own it, and just as a fire would, I see our society burning because of Government intrusion. Since the fire has been started though, it is now time to put it back in a fire place and not put it out. The programs such as wellfare and disablity I still support because they saved my own life from burning, but I no longer support a public healthcare system until we can grasp ourselves as a nation. -
"Now Islam is being attacked just like the Jewish were"
Hmmmm... Funny, I dont remember any Jews really attacking a country because of their interpretation of their religion? It is a little different what the United States and our allies are doing to "Muslim countries" than what happened to the Jews. -
I was wondering just who was attacking Islam. Probably some Islam attackers at Ft Hood.

LOL Matthew Collum is a moron and should be defriended immediately. his comparison of the muslims to the jews makes him sound like a terrorist.
-

I'm pretty sure you guys are jealous :D. I actually came up with a reasonable answer for once and I'm getting mouthed over the religious issue when that wasn't even the point.
-
no. Not right now. I think religion still playing a major role causes people to be set back in society. In the end, yes if people will ever slow down and pay attention to those who are suppressed.
-
LOL didn't realize he posted his own terrorist rant....thought he was flaming a friend...LOL what a life donk
-
Religious institutions are a form of suppression just like the government. So I guess that it is an indirect point.
-
Religion plays into many other things like mental illness. I was classified as schizophrenic because I disagreed with society. That's why I have to get on disabilty. In mental institutions people are forced to take drugs when it is accepted in a way that it is acceptable to society.
-
not in our country. they're voluntary here. in times past and other countries maybe.
But,
are you for unregulated and free economies? is that what you mean by "economically liberal"?? -
in the end- yes. As soon as our society is stable enough again. The New Deal caused a lot of rebellion that I didn't even notice until recently. People may be evil in some aspects but it isn't until others try to suppress them.
-
so...no, then
-
Actually it is still yes. Looking back on things tells me that the government really can become become something that kills our society, or at least makes things distorted to a point where no one finds reason.

o yeah. It's important to know that I don't have health insurance, and my credit is now below 600 all for disagreeing with others.
-
Our parties also manipulate us pretty good as well. For example, Obama supports the Patriot Act. No one talks about the deficit any longer on the Democratic side.

<3 OP

just so you know. you're not a libertarian.

you're a liberal. which is ironic because they aren't for freedom.
and you're wrong about religious institutions in america. otherwise they wouldn't be declining in prominence. There isn't a state-run religion, non-christian religions are revered, and religious freedom is still en vogue. we are more free than any part of the world. very bad attempt. -
I wish that we had a like button on Pocketfives.

The insults are what ruin debates on here. I agree btw. I didn't say I was a Libertarian either. I'm a Libertarian Democrat. I'm for slow progress back to a government that doesn't suppress freedom

Just so any liberal knows, this is why guns are Constitutional for all Americans. To protect against government tyrranny.
