i am a part of a 12 team league that is gonna make a dynasty league. the league settings are as follows, 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, 1 k, 1 d/st. we keep 7 players. all positions 5 points per td. no ppr. fractional points, passing 1 pt = 20 yards rushing/recieving 1=10 yard. no extra points for big plays.
with this info, what is your opinion on direction for the draft. this obv sets the teams up for the future of the league, so would you rather have terrell owens for 2-3 years, or roddy white for 7-8?
i have the 2nd pick in the draft, and AP will go #1. im not in love with any of the other backs. and rbs are far easier to come by than wrs. i am strongly thinking of taking a wr, probably fitzgerald. i know i could get him lower, but i dont wanna trade down more than 2-3 spots and risk missing him, although i could look at calvin johnson. my reasoning for this is these are young players, who will most likely be elite at their position for a long time. can that be said about many of the rbs in this draft? what is your opinion on this?
my feeling is if i can get fitz, brees or brady (although i doubt it will make it back to me with one of them on the board) and another young wr like roddy white, wouldnt there be more turnover of breakout rbs each year than consistant wrs? with players like mcfadden, wells, moreno, forte comming in through the draft every year, i think it might be better to fill out the tougher positions, because i think it will be much easier to fill the two rb spots in the future, even though i think ill come away with a couple solid ones here.
just lookin for input, thanks in adv -
Pray you get 7th place with that plan going in

Looks like QB is a lot more valuable than RB in this league, take Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, then Jay Cutler or Matt Ryan in the 2nd round and leverage your backup QB as a top earner to some chump that drafted RB heavy for his finest runner.
You might need to explain that a top QB can easily account for 3000+ yards while rushing for 1500+ yards is much more difficult, and obv QB's account for a hell of a lot more TD's than RB's. -
white>owens
and id just take forte -
i have thought of that, but the pospect of getting 2 top 6-7 wrs is nice.. i dont know what way im going for sure yet, but our draft is a in a week so i have time to think about it.

Longterm Matt Ryan might be your biggest earner, and worthy of the #1 pick. That's if you're thinking 10+ years though, Brady should be a very strong 5+ year guy, and worthy of the #1 pick in a non-keeper league for 3+ consecutive years, same basically goes for Peyton.
If most of the people you draft with won't get that QB is going to dominate this league and you think you can get a guy that will produce for a long time at QB in later rounds you have to go with Fitzgerald 1st rd imo. No RB is young/talented enough to warrant such a high selection, my trio of guys I would take here, assuming I'm in this for the long haul, are Matt Ryan, Larry Fitzgerald, and Adrian Peterson. If you're thinking shorter sub Ryan for Brady/Manning imo. -
thats why im leaning fitzgerald. top at his position, young, and i think its pretty safe. and i think ryan will still be there later on, but he is targeted
