MJ

Sanders has less interest because he didnt win as much therefor not as fun to watch ..still better to watch than Tiger...
-
I disagree. I enjoy golf more than a little bit, but no way is a golfer my favorite athlete to watch. not even something that is possible... it's fucking golf. I mean, I get super hyped when Tiger is deep and ALWAYS make sure to watch, but it's just not the same as basketball or football to me.

like Jordan was not "so fucking incredible it's stupid?"
I wonder if some of you guys are just too young to remember MJ that well, and grew up with Tiger... or maybe you guys just love golf more than any other sport -

Quote and make bold. DO NOT CHANGE NAMES OR DELETE OTHER CONTENDER OR VOTE MAY NOT BE COUNTED. Think everybody followed that last round except one person, I wont mention any names but it was ACP who did both. I should be able to hit ctrl F and type "L Jordan", scroll through and easily count every vote whether for Jordan or Woods. If I can't your vote probably wont be counted.
FINALS:
Michael Jordan
Tiger Woods -

If John Daly can win a major tournament weighing 300 pounds while smoking a cigarette on course then golf is automatically eliminated for any "athlete competition"
-
Anyone questioning how great it was to watch a player like Jordan go to fucking youtube and watch some highlight reels of both athletes. If by some chance you still think Tiger is more exciting then kill yourself.
-
Although I did get to see the Craptors beat MJ and the greatest team ever, I'm going to have to go with T. Woods, as MJ's prime was before my time.

Edited By: mordan Jan 30th, 2012 at 11:34 PM+1000 I love Golf by far more than any other sport, as well am a huge Tiger nut swinger.....but MJ's greatness will never be replicated, he was the most amazing thing I have ever seen in sports, the reason I love Tiger so much is because his performances were the closest thing I had ever seen to MJ, but they still weren't on his level....I can understand though how people were too young to see these moments live would pick TigerOriginally Posted by TheWacoKidd

Most everything being said itt about Jordan could be said about Gretzky yet he didn't even make the final four.

Michael Jordan's career ended 14 years ago (wiz don't count). Anyone under 27 had no real true memory of what MJ was.
I probably saw him live more than 99.5 percent of the people in OT. I slept outside the UC for playoff tickets. I waited for autographs after and before games. I went to jewel to meet Dickie Simpkins -
I'm 24, grew up a die hard Bulls fan and a lot of my childhood memories are of Jordan and those 90s Bulls teams. I remember being at my grandparent's house watching Paxson hit that 3 against the Suns in the 1993 Finals. I remember the 2nd three-peat the best since I was a bit older then. I used to reenact MJ's game winners in my driveway. My love for basketball started very early on and MJ is the main reason for that.
For Tiger, I followed his career since day 1. He has provided so many amazing sports moments that I've ever witnessed. I'm an avid golfer and love watching the sport. At first I thought this was going to be a harder choice for me until I remembered MJ and the Bulls from my childhood.

I have "the goal" autographed. Probably my favorite autograph I own and I have Barry Sanders, Muhammed Ali, Joe Frazier, Larry Bird, Dr J and some others. Gotta be one of the greatest photos in sports

I like how people are talking to the Woods fans as if they are wrong. There is no right or wrong answer. If there was a right answer it would be Pedro vs Barry Sanders in the final
In Seoul now on a 16 hour stop over drinking beer, going to meet my friend from home for lunch in 35 minutes. It is now Jan 31 1:25 pm and I arrive in Los Angeles at 1:40pm on Jan 31. Be there in 15 minutes. This is officially the longest day of my life beginning with a 12:50am flight from Hong Kong. Will end the contest when I get home. I'll count all the votes even though some of you are really bad at following directions, I blame the parents -
What I mean is that playoffs are more exciting and memorable for television viewing purposes than regular season... most of my memories from Tiger are him raping on Sundays at majors, and most of my memories from Jordan are him posterizing various clowns on his way to rings, not the time he did some amazing dunk from midcourt in the third quarter of a blowout in January vs the Hawks in 1991... and not the time Tiger did xxxxx when he was on the third hole of the Thursday round at the Travelers in suburban Connecticut in June.

you mean teams stacked the box against Sanders the few times he was lucky enough for the Lions to be good enough to make the playoffs? SHOCKER
My best and certainly biggest sports memories come from the biggest games. Barry was never in the biggest games. Even if you throw out the fact that he was not all that memorable in those games, and allow for the fact that teams' entire game plan was "stop Barry, beat the 45 inbreds who couldn't make any other NFL team," you still have the problem of Barry never being on TV in situations that are conducive to him being remembered as the most exciting guy, because the most exciting situations are in the playoffs, or in the last round of a major (golf or tennis, still recovering from how fucking awesome Sunday night was)... If you're in the playoffs, the whole world gets to see the game. If you're on the Lions in the 1990s, how many regular season games do you think are broadcast nationally? Thanksgiving and maybe two or three others? Jordan's on Sportscenter every other night with his highlights, and Barry's appear on like 10 Sundays and a Monday per year before people really start focusing on the NFL playoffs. Yeah, Barry was amazing, but he simply wasn't on during the moments when most people are naturally excited about sports and predisposed to forming memories they will share with their progeny. No that isn't his fault, but it doesn't change the fact that he's not going to win these contests because he wasn't on when the world was watching... -

This is a really underrated statement. I have been away from home the past 3 thanksgivings. When I think of thanksgiving? Ok I will backtrack slightly, when you are away from home you realize how much American food rapes. That said, Barry Sanders is thanksgiving!!!! For real, when I think of thanksgiving, I think of all the food and family and all that stuff, then Barry Sanders. He is thannksgiving memories which for me are greater than any superbowl that didn't include my team (Patriots)
