  1. its such a relative question isn't it? some days i feel like the hard core death medal, and other days i'll find myself pondering off to jack johnson dreaming away. Which makes you focus and play the best? Is it soft rock, hard core, pop, rap?

  2. the sound of skeet hitting the roof of my mouth

  4. interested in hearing a medley? lol
  5. loooooooool. HAHAHAHA.

  6. "hard core death metal"? Like what?

  7. Morbid Angel
  8. MA is pretty much straight up death metal. No hardcore about 'em.

  9. Cannibal Corpse.

Note I listen to none of this, because if I did i'd go on a killing spree, I'm just throwing out names of bands I know are death metal.
  10. Metal is great, you shouldn't overlook it b/c you think you wouldn't like it.

After furthur thought, I guess the OP might have meant Grindcore by hardcore death metal, since grindcore takes from some punk elements. Bands like Napalm Death and (to a lesser degree) Cannibal Corpse.

  11. Good intro to metal would be getting into stoner metal. Bands like kyuss, masters of reality, fu manchu, and to a lesser extent Queens of the Stone Age (mostly their first album). They offer a lighter sound that almost sometimes has a poppy feeling to them. Very listenable, very derived from the original metal created by black sabbath and zeppelin.
  12. IMO, if anyone wants to objectivelly try metal, they should pick up Antichrist Superstar by Manson, Aenima by Tool and Clayman by In Flames, and listen to them a couple times each. I feel those would provide people with a broad overview of the different directions of metal and how it's not all someone screaming over blasting guitars.

  13. I seem to play well when I'm listening to The Beatles, mainly Revolver or any cd after that, especially the Magical Mystery Tour.
  14. Reggae & ska for cash games (the old shit made my Jamaicans [Skatalites, Maytals, Desmond Dekker, Marley], not the second wave shit and beyond made my white oppresssors.) I like aggressive im-better-than-you-at-this-so-imma-fuck-you-up hip hop for tournaments. Dead Prez carried me all the way through the second half of a multi last night, right up to the FT bubble because rigged.

Random listing of some of my favorite CDs off the top of my head, most of which I would never gamble to:

    John Coltrane - Blue Train
    Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
    Minor Threat - Complete Discography
    Orbital - In Sides
    Paul Simon - Graceland
    NOFX - Ribbed (rigged)
Metallica - And Justice for All...
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Wu Tang Clan - Enter the 36 Chambers
    D'Angelo - Voodoo
George Michael - Listen Without Prejudice Vol I
    All of Dieselboy's drum-n-bass mixes

Nevermind, way too much to try and make a list. Drugs are bad.
  15. I said I didn't listen to death metal, not any metal. I've been to 5 Ozzfests and in 2001 travelled to 5 of them with Godhead. They were playing third stage and my friends sister is married to the bass player. Good guys.
  16. only death metal i listen to is metallica
  17. Metallica isn't death metal. Older stuff was speed metal while the new stuff has turned into crap.
