I'm gonna say Jim Rome most likely, however Dan Patrick is really growing on me with his dry humor. I also enjoy DP's producer and other staff guys that get air time more than any other show. I must say that I miss Craig Shemon and James Washington's show, I liked those guys. Chris Myers is the absolute fucking worst though, that guy could put a raging rhino to sleep in 30 seconds with all of his NASCAR bullshit and otherwise uncontroversial and totally boring banter.
So for me it's Rome, but not by much. -
It's cooler than the other side of the pillow.
SS by far with Dan in second. -
is that fucking ted kennedy in drag?
-
chris mad dog russo left wfan in new york for sirius xm in the fall. i am still grieving. mike and the mad dog was the greatest.
-
i should listen to the radio more, but how i miss listening to dan patrick and rob dibble
-
I use to listen to rome alot. Now i mostly listen to local guys.
The only national show i catch at all is the Brick. Since its on my way home from events most nights. -
Cowherd
-
So weird, I actually dislike/disagree with a lot Rome says but yet I listen everyday. I listen to mostly local stuff though.

your post is loaded with blasphemey

THIS. Jim Rome is def near the top of the WORST sports talk show hosts in the nation. He repeats himself like a parrot, uses way too many annoying sound drops, has a TON of dead air that program hosts hate, and kisses up to every athelete. Ever notice that he says any interview he has is one of the best interviews ever? How can 500+ interviews he did last year all be in the top 10 ever?
-
oh you know who's really annoying? grahm bensinger, that guy's voice makes me wanna drive into a median.
-
Cowherd
Patrick
everyone else.
I used to LOVE listening to ESPNradio when Eric Kuselias was on all the time. Now he's just a NASCAR guy (I think). He was awesome... -
LMAOOO QUOTED FOR TRUTH.

Rome by miles and miles and miles.
Every other national talk show host is dogshit compared to him. Patrick is a distant second, and Cowherd makes me want to kill babies and little puppies. Everyone else is not worth mentioning. -
Scotty Farrell
sh sh sh shake it up -
Eric Kuselias fills in for Mike and Mike a ton, and does some PTI sometimes too, he does a pretty good job.

I hate Rome.
I used to hate Cowherd but given the fact I live in Vermont radio options are slim so I was forced to listen to him and he really grew on me. He's very insightful and he definitely isn't the type to cast his finger in the air and see how public opinion is going but rather he takes a stance and then defends it. Now I disagree with Cowherd quite a bit and sometimes he takes view points that make me want to drive off the road but he's really entertaining and really argues his point of view well. Above everything else he's different.
Scott Van Pelt is prob the most underrated (he's funny as shit)
And Patrick isn't even worth talking about. His show deals with like the most basic of mainstream stuff, it's not even interesting. It's like the NPR of Sports talk shows. -

Colin Cowherd Nonsensical Falsehood of the Day
Driving in this morning, heard Cowbones lay this little ditty on his army of listeners (paraphrase):
Lou Pinella, when he was a player, was the kind of guy who never took a day off.
Lou Pinella, games played:
1969: 135
70: 144
71: 126
72: 151
73: 144
74: 140
75: 74
76: 100
77: 103
78: 130
79: 130
80: 116
81: 60
82: 102
83: 53
So...it's truer to say that Lou Pinella, as a player, never didn't take a day off.
Colin Cowherd once again proving: you can just say anything you want and no one will care.

Jose Canseco should be in the Hall of Fame and heres why. Its called Hall of Fame. Fame for famous. For ten years he was the most talked about player in the league. He is the whistle blower, the only honest person in this sport, who called out the games discrepancies and lies. He is famous, he is relevant and he is talked about. [nerd voice] Well his numbers dont compare I dont care. Its called Hall of Fame, not "Hall of Very Good."
Fast forward a couple minutes....
I mean, if youre an MVP, youre a Hall of Fame guy.
The insane contradictions have begun. Didn't CC just say "It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Very Good?" And now he says that anyone who wins the MVP should be in the Hall of Fame? The MVP? That is voted on by the same media he just derided (and will again later) as being suckers for a nice ballplayer -- so much so that they will vote in a mediocre player if he was nice to them? But if you win an MVP you should be in the HOF? Are you kidding me?
Juan Gonzalez
Mo Vaughn
George Bell
Don Mattingly
Ken Caminiti
Terry Pendleton
Kevin Mitchell
Willie McGee
Willie Hernandez
Don Baylor
George Foster
Jeff Burroughs
Fred Lynn
Zoilo Versalles
It is the Hall of Fame, Colin. Not the Hall of Very Good.
Colin Cowherd is a quack. Thank you firejoemorgan for some evidence. Krejci be with you all -
All of this gets an A+

that canseco quote is rediculous, I can't believe he actually would be in favor of that guy in the MLB HOF.
-
Wow dude I'm wicked impressed you're a FJM guy. It's a shame those guys don't write anymore (you know they write for "the Office" right?) It should be noted that FJM had beef with Cowherd because Cowherd got his listeners to launch some sort of attack on Deadspin (FJM guys are big Deadspin guys.)

I find Cowherd entertaining but I definitely wouldn't qualify anything he does as journalism (nor would I qualify anything that like 99% of sports radio guys do as journalism.)
But who needs ESPN when you have THE BIGGG SHOW!
