All right. A few years ago I compiled my top 25 WrestleMania moments in a 42-page column I wrote about WrestleMania. Here's the 25 that I came up with, without any of the past few WrestleManias included.
25. Jeff Hardy Hits Swanton Bomb At WrestleMania 2000
This ladder match came after their No Mercy 1999 Ladder Match and their Tables Match with the Dudley Boyz at Royal Rumble 2000. When he pulled off the huge ladder, which was a jaw-dropping sight, no one knew what would happen. Then Jeff climbed it, and we all thought: "Maybe...just maybe." Then he signalled, and he flew, with his neck landing on Bubba Ray Dudley, sending him through the table. It's a great vision and absolutely crazy moment.

24. Shane McMahon Hits Van Terminator At WrestleMania X-Seven
Everyone had seen Rob Van Dam nail Van Terminators in Extreme Championship Wrestling, but that wasn't in a WWF ring. Contrarily, it was in a ring quite smaller than one in the WWF. People saw it as impossible for someone to jump from one end of the ring to another in a WWF ring. Then, Shane McMahon did it. With Vince McMahon sitting in the corner, steel char against his head, Shane flew, and he hit a picture-perfect and awe-inspiring maneuver. The moment this happened, everyone was in shock that Shane had just done the impossible.

23. Vince McMahon: "Welcome To WrestleMania Three!"
Prior to introducing the legend, Aretha Franklin, he stepped in the ring in front of the immense crowd. He welcomed everyone to WrestleMania III, and it was the start of one of the greatest nights in WWF history.

22. Andre The Giant's Final Appearance At WrestleMania VII
Andre The Giant came down during the Mr. Perfect vs. Big Bossman Intercontinental Title confrontation, making his final WrestleMania appearance. He took out Heenan, DiBiase and Hennig, which was his farewell to WrestleMania. It was a great moment, as it made the viewer reflect on every other great Andre moment.

21. The Undertaker Wins WWF Championship At WrestleMania 13
The match was as close to garbage as you can get, but the nostalgia that came as a result of the Phenom's victory was memorable. He came out to the match wearing his traditional black and gray (instead of his new black and purple), and he captured the WWF Gold. After the match, he got down on one knee, and he raised the belt to the urn like he'd done so many times in his career. It's a truly magical moment.

20. Roddy Piper interferes during McMahon/Hogan At WrestleMania XIX
This one came out of nowhere, not rumored and completely unexpected. When Piper entered through the crowd, the fans exploded. Piper went on to clock Hogan, marking his return to World Wrestling Entertainment. The shock value and nostalgia featured in this match, 20 years in the making, combined with Roddy Pipers interference make it a magical moment in the WrestleMania annals.

19. Hulk Hogan Pins Sgt. Slaughter At WrestleMania VII
Hogan pinning Slaughter is different than anyone else that Hogan's pinned. Not only was he pinning his opponent and winning the World Wrestling Federation Championship, but he represented America defeating Iraq during the Gulf War. It was a patriotic and fitting end to a great feud, with Hogan shedding the blood, only to wave the flag and hold the WWF Championship at the end of the patriotic evening in Los Angeles.

18. Chris Benoit Makes Triple H Tap
It was well worth the wait, that's for sure. In the Main Event of WrestleMania XX, Triple H succombed to the Crossface submission of Chris Benoit. This resulted in Benoit's first World Heavyweight Championship reign in WWE history. The camera got a closeup of Triple H tapping followed by production panning to the crowd going wild for the victory. It was a great way to end the 20th Anniversary Show.

17. Mike Tyson Punches Shawn Michaels At WrestleMania XIV
Tyson turned on Shawn Michaels, and the feeling and memory is awesome. The celebrity with the biggest impact on a wrestling event, ever, just clocked his so-called buddy.

16. Kane Tombstones Pete Rose At WrestleMania XIV
Pete Rose babbled on and on about Boston, and out came Kane. He entered the ring, beat up and Tombstoned Pete Rose into the canvas. The crowd went crazy, and it's still a great sight to see one of the greatest baseball players ever taking such a maneuver from the Big Red Machine.

15. Andre The Giant Slams Big John Studd At WrestleMania 2
In the $15,000 Dollar Bodyslam Match, Andre succeeded in slamming Studd. The crowd went nuts, and Andre then threw some of the dough into the crowd. This was the ultimate act of the lovable, gentle giant.

14. Randy Savage Pins Ric Flair At WrestleMania VIII
In front of over 60,000 fans at the Hoosier Dome, Randy Savage ended a bloody, intense bout with Ric Flair by pinning him 1, 2, 3 for his final WWF Championship. He rolled him up, and the crowd popped huge. Emotionally and physically drained, Savage was announced the new champion, and he celebrated along with the crowd.

13. The Ultimate Warrior Pins Hulk Hogan At WrestleMania VI
Hulk Hogan was pinned for the first time in his WrestleMania tenure when The Ultimate Warrior stood with one foot on Hogan's sternum with his hands raised high. After a great battle and a couple false finishes, The Ultimate Warrior moved out of the way of Hogan's Atomic Leg Drop, got up, and hit the Big Splash. While he had maybe 40 percent of the crowd on his side, when he pinned Hogan, the everyone at Skydome cheered.

12. Aretha Performs "America The Beautiful" At WrestleMania III
It was an amazing sight to see, with the grand piano and Aretha Franklin in the spotlight. Out of 93,173 fans in the Silverdome, Aretha was the one person that the world watched as she delivered a beautiful singing of "America The Beautiful."

11. Gimmick Battle Royale Participants Enter At WrestleMania X-Seven
Nostalgia ran high when the likes of Doink The Clown, Brother Love, Kamala and other former WWF Superstars came through the curtains at WrestleMania X-Seven. However, the best entrance at the Battle Royale came in the form of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. He was greeted with a standing ovation, and goosebumps arose as he made what was thought to be his final WrestleMania appearance (hes rumored as a guest commentator for this years event).

10. Mick Foley Exits WrestleMania 2000
After being eliminated in the WrestleMania 2000 Main Event, Mick Foley took one last walk as a wrestler down the WWF aisle. With tears in his eyes and fans giving him respect with a standing ovation, he left, etching a memory into our craniums for all time.

9. Shawn Michaels Enters WrestleMania XII
The Heartbreak Kid entered WrestleMania XII from the rafters of the Arrowhead Pond. He proved to the world why he called himself "the showstopper, the icon and the main event." With flash bulbs going off left and right, Michaels entered the Pond, and he was destined to win the WWF Championship after such pageantry.

8. Hulk Hogan Pins Yokozuna At WrestleMania IX
It was over in a matter of seconds, and the crowd went berserk. Hogan hit the Atomic Leg Drop, and the crowd at Caesar's Palace cheered wildly for really, the first time of the night. It was a surprise ending that came out of no where, and Hogan won his final WrestleMania Title match. If you look beyond any backstage politics or your personal hate for Hulk Hogan and just live in the moment, this is a Top Ten memory.

7. Miss Elizabeth & Randy Savage Reunite At WrestleMania VII
It's a truly touching moment. After Savage was defeated and Queen Sherri came in and pummeled the helpless Savage, Elizabeth came in from the crowd, jumping the barricade, and ran in to make the save. After a good bit of tension, a sweaty Savage hugged the dazzling Miss Elizabeth, which sent the audience into tears.

6. Austin Screams As Blood Drips Down His Face In The Sharpshooter At WrestleMania 13
Austin was busted open by the ring bell, and he suffered a tremendous amount of punishment at the hands of Bret "Hitman" Hart at WrestleMania 13. The event was dubbed "Heat," and this match had all the heat anyone could ask for. One of the lasting images of WrestleMania is the picture of Austin, with his arm outstretched, screaming as he endured the Sharpshooter. It showed the guts, competitive spirit and heart of Austin, and it's a moment that we'll never forget.

5. Gorilla Monsoon Is Introduced As A Brawl For All Judge At WrestleMania XV
This is one of my all time personal favorite moments, as I'm an enormous fan of Gorilla Monsoon. Never has there ever...ever...ever been a better commentator than the Gorilla. He made his final WrestleMania appearance at WrestleMania XV to a standing ovation from the First Union Center crowd. It sent chills down my spine, and it was good to see one of the WWF's all time best for one last time at the WWF's biggest show.

4. Ricky Steamboat Pins Randy Savage At WrestleMania III
When Steamboat pinned Savage, one of the biggest pops of all time erupted from the nearly 100,000 fans in Detroit. It was a culmination to one of the most heated feuds of all time, and it came as a shock to many. The surprise pinfall, with Steamboat countering a bodyslam, sent the crowd into pandemonium. It's another moment that gave me goosebumps, and it definitely deserves to be in the Top Five.

3. Toronto Fans Cheer Hogan & Boo The Rock At WrestleMania X-8
The Toronto fans made it possible for me to mark out, and they made the match. It was so amazing and such a nostalgic experience for the fans to erupt at any Hogan offense and boo every Rocky maneuver. The fans in the background were going wild, jumping up and down, hooting and hollering. They provided an atmosphere that will never be forgotten, especially in this match-up.

2. Triple H & Chyna Join The Corporation At WrestleMania XV
This will go down as one of the best swerves of all time, right up there with the 1998 Survivor Series. Previously in the card, Triple H and Chyna reunited. Just a few minutes later, they turned on D-Generation X, and my jaw was on the floor.

1. Hulk Hogan Slams And Pins Andre The Giant At WrestleMania III
In the biggest, most anticipated match of all time, Hulk Hogan did the impossible when he bodyslammed Andre The Giant. He'd failed once in the match, but he succeeded at the end. It led to the Atomic Leg Drop and one, two and three, which was truly incredible. It's awesome now, but when you look into historical context, it's even better. Not only did Hulk Hogan defeat the undefeated, but he bodyslammed the immovable object. This will go down as the best moment in WrestleMania history.
While a few years out of date now, my 40+ page WrestleMania column is quite possibly the greatest chronicle of WrestleMania on the web. If you want it e-mailed to you, just hit me up via PM.

My all-time favorite non-WrestleMania moment is when Davey Boy Smith pinned Bret Hart at SummerSlam 1992, as over 80,000 of the Bulldog's compatriots roared when he scored the pinfall.
