GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers' general manager and coach don't plan to grant Brett Favre's request for his release. If he does rejoin the team, they told The Associated Press, it won't be as the starting quarterback.

Yep, he's coming back to the Pack for sure now.

    Such LOLaments.
  2. That is awesome. Maybe he'll cry like a lil girl like he did after my rams picked him off 6 times in the 01 playoff's.
  3. A completely appropriate response. imo
  4. that is nice of them to do
  5. no way they pay him 13 million to be a back up

he should say "ok fine I ll play all 3 years of my contract bishes"
  6. NFL contracts aren't guarransheed(!) 99% of the time, but Favre could have one, does he? I thought he signed like a 10 year extension when he was like 40 for salary cap flexibility.

I understand that they are not guaranteed beyond signing bonuses and other money expressly guaranteed in the contract. I imagine his next year's money is guaranteed

However, he has asked for his release The response was come be a back up. So if he says yes, he gets paid. If they release him, he wins. If he shows up and they dont use him, he wins, not the least of reasons being there's no way the team or the fans sit still for the better player sitting on the sidelines. So the 13 would count towards the 2008 season. If they dont cut him soon enough after the next year, a large percentage of it or all of the next year's 13 million will count towards 2009(if that year has a cap either 09 or 10 doesnt if the cba isnt renewed)

But if the pack wants to fuck with him for whatever reason, he can fuck with them a lot more imo

If he shows up and they dont use him, he wins?? How would he win? He wants to play, not be a backup. That is most definitely not winning. And unless Rodgers gets hurt or plays horrifically, both of which are unlikely, no matter the pressure from the fans, the management will not put him in. and you do realize the Pack can trade him right? If he wants to fuck with the Packers, the Packers can trade him to the Dolphins for Jason Taylor. We will see how happy he will be then.
  9. If Favre comes back to the Packers, I 10000000% guarantee you that by week 1, he would not be the backup.

u r wrong. The team is very behind Rodgers and if the management says he will be the backup, then he will be the backup.
