I'm in first place by 7 points in a 12 team roto. My team is as follows;
Edited By: LarsonLarsen Jul 12th, 2010 at 06:26 PM
C - Kurt Suzuki
1B - Nick Swisher
2B - Howie Kendrick
3B - Jose Lopez
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - Nick Markakis
OF - Corey Hart
OF - Alex Rios
UTL - James Loney
UTL - Brennan Boesch
Super shallow bench with only Hunter Pence and the occasion waiver guy.
Pitching;
Jonathan Sanchez
Felix Hernandez
Danny Haren
Kris Medlen
Luke Gregerson
Chad Billingsly
John Axford
Josh Johnson
Jonathan Broxton
and just picked up Alfredo Simon
The one category that's really killing me is obviously saves. Just had a guy offer me Matt Capps for Swisher, which I am not taking. The same guy also has Soria. Would it be worth it to offer Swish for Soria knowing he'll probably take it and sell high on Swish? I kept thinking his average would drop into the usual .230 range but it hasn't and he just keeps hitting with power and replacing him with James Loney is okay but then I have Pence in the lineup every day which I'm not thrilled about until around September.
Reason: Put an extra H in Jonathan -
that's a really easy trade to make if you need saves.

I need saves, but I'm not dominating in offense either. 7 points in both HR and R. Downgrading from Swish to Pence will probably hurt more than help in both those Cats while getting Soria will help in saves, but I'm already getting the full 12 points in ERA and WHIP so there isn't a ton to be gained there.

Swisher is going to score a ton of runs as it looks like he will probably bat second most of the time and yeah, he'll hit more home runs than Pence. I think you are undervaluing Pence, though. Aren't many guys who have double digit homers and steals right now. Keeping him on your bench in a 12-team league is a waste. I'd probably try to trade markakis, who has a better name and puts up equal numbers as Pence other than BA, for a closer who won't lose his job. Or, depending on whose available and what your bench is like, get a couple of the evan meek, tyler clippard, brandon league guys and hope. I would ditch Simon for any of those 3.

Ended up offering Swish for Soria and was accepted.
