Ok so Im in this 12 man league that most of my friends have been in for 2 years. We have had sum turnover from year to year but pretty much everyone knows the NFL pretty well and knows how to play. We needed one guy this year and this guy, whos not the hippest cat, wanted to play and was really enthusiastic about it and what not. We smack talk more than your average league. Anyway he drafted not terrible but obv didnt know 100% wat was going on.
Fast forward to this week. his two best players are Drew Brees and now Pierre Thomas. his other rbs are lendale white, ricky williams, knowshon mareno, and tim hightower.
I have Warner and Orton. rbs are Slaton, K Smith, Addia, Coffee, Cadilliac, Buckhalter, D. Brown and C. Taylor.
The wire is literally bare at every spot except maybe a deep wr. only QBs are Shaun Hill and Kerry Collins.
The saints are on bye week. so I offered him Orton and Cadilliac for Pierre Thomas.
With his best two players and only QB on bye i really think he will accept, is that a unethical move? Am I taking advantage of someone that doesnt know any better?
Or is it not that bad?
sorry so long -
It's irrelevant if he accepts or not. Your trade will get veto'd by the rest of the league (if your league has such an option).
-
League has to veto in majority and I really dont think it will be veto'd only because a couple of guys are out of town until thurs night and I know a couple of guys dont really check untill later in the week.
Our trade veto time period is 24 hours -
If your commish has any huevos he'll veto this (I'm assuming he has the authority). You also answered your own question as to whether or not this is a sketchy deal as your trying to snake this through early in the week. I'm pretty confident that if your league is as competitive as you say it is this will work itself out.
-
Doubt he accepts anyways. Any retard knows Orton isn't a fantasy QB.

This trade WOULD work out, if the other guy had another bonafied starting RB. As is, he's getting the shaft, especially since Shaun Hill is more than servicable as a WW pick-up if there was no QBs available, well, that's another story.
-
Ok, I havent offered the trade just yet, wanted to get some kind of idea as to what people think. I asked three guys in the league and two said they didnt see a problem with it, both gained from the trade. I talked to the other trading party and I think he will accept.
The reason Im asking is because we rotate who the commisioner is each year and this year its me. We have a majority vote veto for the trades and the commish has never stepped in, in two years.
The reason I want to get this done quick is because some other guys have QBs to trade him also. I want to get it done first. But no one else has the rbs like i have and I could give Addia if he pushed for him. -
Don't embarress yourself. Just stop it.

This guy is brain-damaged if he accepts this deal, the name of your league isn't 'Sharpest Tools in the Shed' by chance is it, because that would be hilarious.
-
We will see at the end of the season but I really think Orton will be a top 15 fantasy QB.
I wish more than two guys would give opinions. What if I switched Cadilliac w Addai? any better? -
24 hour veto periods suck
-
You'd have to give up Slaton IMO. Or Brown and Addai.
-
I agree. Orton is solid. He is more of a game manager than a gun slinger but he gets points. Especially, with the emergence of Marshall this season he should start to light it up.
