I really enjoyed the league last year (apart from a few games not being played) so looking to start another one for this year. I dont mind if it is a free league or if people want a buy in. So can anybody that wants to play say whether they would want free or play for some cash. I personally would rather play for something, even if it is just $10/20 because i think there is less chance that people just give up on it, even if it is just a small amount.

Also for anyone that played last time, any suggestions for making the league better? Rule changes etc. I liked the way it was last year with the exception of the games not being played and having to decide who go the games. So any suggestions on how to get round that would be appreciated.

Rules
• All games must be played by 11th March.
• Everybody will play everyone once in a series of 3 games. Each game will count towards the final league. 1st game will be the club teams, 2nd international and then 3rd game will be your choice of your 2 teams
• As we cant play extra time in FIFA 12 we will have to allow for draws, therefore you will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss
• Tie breaker will be the games played against each other. If there is more than 2 teams tied and they can’t be separated by the games against each other we will use goal difference so remember to post scores itt when games have been played. If this can’t separate players then we will use goals scored and then a 1 game play off.
• Playoffs will be best of 3 games. The top 6 will make the playoffs with the 1 and 2 seeds receiving a bye. The highest seed remaining will play the lowest and so on.
• If a game is disconnected, put in some effort to reconnect and play game again until the first game would've been finished + 2 minutes of extra time (i.e. 17 mins disconnect....play until 73rd minute + 2, so 75th minute). If game keeps getting disconnected, well then put a claim into the thread and everyone in the league will have a vote/alternative, with myself making the ultimate decision that is fair if need be.
• Hopefully people won’t just quit when they are losing but if they do then post itt and I’ll try to make a fair decision. The score will either go down as 3-0 or whatever the score was at the time, whichever is better for the player that was quit on.
• If neither player makes an effort to play their game then both players will receive losses for any unplayed games by the deadline. If you can’t get hold of your opponent then post itt and again I will try to make a fair decision.
• 6 Minute halves

I'm in for any amount. I would love to do a draft like you can in madden but I don't think you can do that in fifa. One different way you could do it would be to have a pool of teams and you have to play each one once, that way it would be more equal over the whole league and the team that gets barca doesnt have such a huge advantage.

In for free, if its anything like a madden league people will fail to follow the rules and I don't feeling like paying an entry fee when I'm following rules and others aren't

I quite like this idea. Not 100% sure how it would work out but it could be an idea to do something like this. Maybe it could be a random draw for which team you have to use on each game or something like that. If not whoever is the best player is going to always play against barca

I'd play, not sure I want to kick in a buy-in though... I don't play a ton of FIFA anymore, but would enjoy some friendly competition.

I got really frustrated at not being able to select who you play against -- since I use Arsenal the vast majority of the time, I would end up playing Madrid 8/10 times -- which kinda got old. I'd even be fine playing Chelsea, United, City, etc...

The draft would be fun, for sure. I think I'd enjoy that a lot if its possible.

Thats the only reason i think a buy in would be better. Even if it is just 10 or something. i guess people arent going to be that bothered about losing $10 but it might stop people from entering with no real intention of actually playing

i'll join if i actually can manage a shot by the time this starts, got back in consoles other day with 360 and picked this up...seems like the game is fun as hell when you get the hang of it but i've been playing quite a bit and am getting getting wrecked every match i play...any tips? been messing around with the various controller settings but not sure whats best

Shall we just make it a free league as we will get more people. I just want to play some games so im not bothered about playing for cash. If we are going to do free i will sort all the fixtures etc out tomorrow evening and sort out playoffs etc

Ill leave this open until after the Liverpool Spurs(about another 3 hours) game and then sort everything out. What are peoples thoughts about drafting teams or having a pool of teams? Could also put the best teams in a hat and do a random draw for it?

As its just free i cant really be bothered to play around with the rules too much so will probably just stick with the ones from the last league (1 club, 1 international and then use either in a 3rd game) Just want to know how people feel about drafting.

Probably just have one group and either top 4 make playoffs or top 6 with 1 and 2 getting a bye, whatever people prefer. Just lmk

can always do some side bets if people want to play for cash as well

Also think it is going to be easier to just say play everybody when you can but give a time limit of like a month or something. Didnt really work out too well last time when the games were scheduled.

Im gonna close this now so i can get everything sorted. I think the quickest and easiest way to sort the teams is if i put the best 11 clubs in a hat and randomly draw them. Then i will put whoever has the best club team with the 11th best international team. 2nd best club with the 10th international team and so on. Should mean we can get things going quicker.

Just looked through and croatia are rated a lot higher than USA, as were a few other teams so ill put them in it instead.

I took an average of the Att, Mid and Def ratings. didnt really know a better way to sort them and then paired the teams up
