OT is the most honest group of people I have ever come across in my life.
My fiance and I don't want to have a cheesy, overplayed or unknown song for our first dance.
Two of my old roommate got married, their songs were " I dont want to miss a thing" Aerosmith ( eye roll) and my other friend had an unknown song that left everyone looking at each other like " wtf song is this"
Her sister is getting married in a month and chose " Marry Me" by Train. AWFUL
This is our front runner
Be honest OT. Would this be a solid song to have as our first dance song? Not cheesy, lame or unknown? -
Lol. Who cares what other people think about things at your wedding. Last time I checked it was all about what you and your wife want, not anyone else ffs. People who bash other peoples shyt at weddings should get a bikini wax from Helen Keller imo.

Go for the wow factor. This will get you the gasps you are looking for...

as the Man, you should not care what the song is, or even be thinking about it.

also,
let her worry about what people think. -
AWESOME choice.
-
You trying to put people to sleep?
-
agree with the other posters, pick a song you like and that you'll be happy to hear. if you like at last, who cares if it's overplayed?
i just got married and used you make me feel so young cause time was running out on picking a song and it's in elf, one of my favorite movies. :) i knew it would put a smile on my face, and my fiance was just happy to get a song picked. fwiw our band wanted us to do our first dance to can't take my eyes off of you, but i felt more comfortable going with a song i chose myself. -

Up tempo...beautiful lyrics...3 minutes and you're done...
Again, a good, solid Motown staple that isn't overused especially as the first song.
This one might be a little long but it can work.
Total early 90s cheese and you might start a fire with all the cigarette lighters people would invariably light up.
Our song was "Happy Together". I choreographed the dance.

i like this idea..fuck the norm..be different -
i love that baby got back one. hmmmmm

I think your choice is perfect

Gotta go with the Donau Waltz bro! (I had no choice, getting married in Austria)

But seriously, your choice isn't so bad. It's definitely a good song/not cheesy, but it is a little slow. Maybe somethings a little more upbeat?
Edit: Congrats btw. And by "not so bad" I mean that it's actually pretty damn good/I dig it. Just a little slow, but you can just follow it up with something faster and problem solved. -
this was ours

i did 'from this moment on' by shania twain.. i personally wanted some R Kelly 12 Seems like you're ready but the black bitch outvoted me.

At Last is on every single 'Love Songs' CD that I've seen advertised on TV. It's a great song, don't get me wrong but it's the epitomy of an overplayed love song.

I'd go with 'You Are the Best Thing' by Ray Lamontange (sp?) -
Lifehouse. Or Bruno mars

Not sure about traditional weeding dances and the like, but this was the song we were presented as Mister and Misses to.
