  1. Causing a disturbance is peacefully assembling?

Refusing a lawful command is peaceful?

Private property does not reserve the right to have a code of conduct for the premises?

Public property does not have a code of conduct?

These guys were being dicks to be dicks, and to make a scene that would get recorded and could be posted so those of their worldview could salivate and jerk-off to the "man keeping them down" such undeniable proof that big brother is wrapping it's hands around your neck. Granted attributing hands to a vague intangible entity is a bit crazy.

First Amendment written by James Madison. Thomas Jefferson was on vacation in France that day bruh. Keep calling other people ignorant and stupid tho. wpwp.
  3. lol owned

  4. That whole scene was pretty fucking stupid.

  5. How many people in this thread are Americans? Because any American who thinks this was ok is what is wrong with this country. Being a dick in public isn't cause for arrest. I know that through your lifetime and for several decade before it they have been slowly getting you accustomed to people being arrested for doing something like acting silly. But just because you have become accustomed to it AND you think flash mobs are silly people still doesn't make it right. You see, the reason the constitution means something is because it applies to everyone equally. And you think it's ok to violate with when the people that are having their rights trampled on are 'silly to you'. But what you fail to understand is the bigger picture.

They get you accustomed to OTHER silly people having their rights violated. And it continues. No one speaks up and stops it. One day...you are the silly person. And you never saw it coming.

Dancing like a gay fairy at a public monument is not illegal. It isn't disturbing the peace. It's just stupid. And stupid isn't illegal. Well, it is when people like you condone it and law enforcement gets away with it.

Yep, violating someones rights is just funny. Until the day comes when the rights they violate are yours.
  6. people still have flashmobs?
  7. Park police and dc cops are the best crowd control people in america. They control shit worse than that everyday. Where else is there a protest march daily?

Consider how outnumbered they are and didnt need backup.

Love how the sound is so obv off to protect the crowd from sounding like assholes who deserved a beating. Lol@thinking this is their first rodeo.
Would love a sequel in jail where guy dancing around meets 300lb black gangbangers. "Im soooo bad in my handcuffs! Look at me! Im cool rockong the bracelets! Come on ladies you know you want some of this!"

In 1789, James Madison--nicknamed "the father of the Constitution"--proposed twelve amendments that ultimately became the ten amendments making up the U.S. Bill of Rights. In this respect, Madison was unquestionably the person who wrote the First Amendment.

But he wasn't the one who came up with the idea, and there are several factors that complicate his status as author:
Madison initially stood by the unamended Constitution, viewing the Bill of Rights as unnecessary because he did not believe that the federal government would ever become powerful enough to need one.

Madison's mentor Thomas Jefferson was ultimately the person who convinced him to change his mind and propose a Bill of Rights. The freedoms described in the First Amendment--separation of church and state, religious free exercise, and freedoms of speech, press, assembly, and petition--were of particular concern to Jefferson.
Jefferson himself was inspired by the work of European Enlightenment philosophers such as John Locke and Cesare Beccaria.

The language of the First Amendment was inspired by similar free speech protections written into various state constitutions.
So while Madison unquestionably wrote the First Amendment, it would be a little bit of a stretch to suggest that it was Madison's idea. He proposed it more to honor his mentor and humor opponents of the Constitution than anything else, and his model for a constitutional amendment protecting free expression and freedom of conscience was not particularly original. What was original was for someone of Madison's clout to stand up and call for these protections to be permanently written into the U.S. Constitution.

Agrii. Notice they couldnt get a black guy to dance with the mob. Just wish another tourist wouldve punched one in the face.

when at a national monument any outburst in an era of terra only make cops think its a distraction for something else.

You would have no common sense to do that. Like accidentaly standing up in a plane yelling "allah allah allah!" and saying it was just a protest and acting like you dont get why people are tazing and beating me. Oh those terrible people who beat me!
    ------------
Veterans protest everyday in dc too. Doubt theres a higher concentration anywhere.
Oh no if he fought back there would be trouble lolllllllllllllllll.
Cops still have guns and mace and numbers and backup available. Is he going rambo through dc? Oh noes! Who will stop him! Oh noes! Stop watching so many movies. The only one that ends badly for is the vet eventually. Hence why it doesnt happen that often considering the numbers of protestors. Good way to commit suicide tho.
Kinda would be cool if his peaceful dance protest turned into him killing people tho. That would get the message out finally. Lolllllllll. Such a martyr.
    ---------------
Would pay to see stacked be a riot cop in dc being spit on and cussed at and rocks thrown at and how awesome he would be never fighting back lolllll.
  10. Seems like a standard power trip to me.

No way, cops got a big head and wanted to show it!? Whodathunk it?
  11. Madison + Hamilton > Jefferson

Anybody else agree Jefferson is a bitch? He is the type of guy who would watch his dog get raped by Hancock and do nothing about it. Hamilton on the other hand is an underrated badass and Madison the best writer in American history.

  14. code pink tshirt?
  15. lol code pink

all of these idiot lunatics should be locked up for life without parole. freaks
  16. definitely not a fan of real police brutality, but i agree with the thread title on this one.
  17. The lemmings have flash mobbed this thread.

    Amerika! Fuck yeah!
  18. Think it was a slight over-reaction from the cops, but the folks involved were clearly looking for a reaction of this sort. Anybody else surprised that no one seemed to get taken down for filming it?
  19. GO OBAMA, get those hippy wannabe fucks. GO police brutallity, the ONLY time it should be legal, against hippies!!!
  20. what were they charged with?

  21. looks lame. i, um, er have danced in a flash mob. it was 2009! forgive me! we did it cause it was fun. most of the men had those hand stiched little prancy shoes worn by stage people and swished with lapdog.
  22. Cliffs for situation:

*in 2008 flash mob dances at Jefferson Memorial, people are arrested, appellate court holds that dancing inside the memorial is against the law, dancing outside the memorial is fine

*Kokesh and crew decide to stage a flash mob protest of court ruling in 2011 by dancing inside the memorial, and get coverage of themselves doing so. park police are obviously made aware of said protest.

*before dancing can begin, park police calmly explain that if they dance inside the memorial, they will be arrested and detained

*people start dancing, people start getting arrested, some resist arrest, get taken down harder than others

*kokesh and co. get exactly what they wanted out of it, police did their job the way they were supposed to

*now trying to stage an even bigger dance even on Saturday at the Memorial, where we can see the police brutalize even more terrible dancers as soon as posted to youtube

not surprised at all, because the police in this situation actually did their jobs really well and tried to handle it in a calm and clear manner and avoid confrontation.
  23. thanks for the info. thought something was fishy.
  24. US Government - you are permitted to dance anywhere other than a "memorial" to a founding father and former US President.

Hipster - that's unfair man. we have a right to dance.

Must be nice to have real problems. Let's provoke the park police and do things that are specifically illegal just to ruin their day. Then we can film it and make THEM look bad. Haha! That will show them.

Pretty sure if these idiots were holding their four person flash mob at your grandmother's memorial you would take them out too.

i was nodding my head along with ur post. then u said some weird thing about me being upset if somebody organized a dance at my g'ma's memorial and i got confused. i would not care if people danced just about anywhere. (with some exceptions for intent)

but if someone said it was illegal to dance at my g'ma's memorial, i wouldn't be mad at people who did.

well i guess if i had a g'ma who hated dancing or was killed by a flash mob i may see it differently.

i dunno, that last part confused me.

they look at it as civil disobedience, i guess. i dont think the point was to make the police look bad, but rather to show that it's a stupid law.

first, they came for our dancers...

Love the cops' reaction which basically says "crap, that's a good point" and then switched it to "keep your voice down".
