I would agrii its one of those rare years you are better off losing before the finals and being added to that long enough Philly list of 2nd place teams but I though you would beat Pitt honestly. Detroit in 5 was a good prediction.

meh very nice run flyers. i thought they were the worst of the 16 playoff teams, but they played very well in the first 2 rounds and proved me wrong. just very outclassed here, especially without timmonen. the stanley cup series should be awesome, cant wait.

why do the wings get their balls worshipped constantly. yes there good, but so are the pens except for there D the pens are better. malkin crosby> datsuyk and zetterberg. wuings got 115 in the esasiest division in the west , 8 games vs. the blues, hawks. predators and blue jackets who gives a shit. pens are in the toughest division in the league without sid or fleury and still got 2 seed. playoff wings get predators, a gimped avalanche, and an overachieving dallas team that has been saved by a goalie and a choking sharks. with that said i say pens in 7

I'm happy with the FLYERS season this year...conference finals....didn't have Gagne....Coburn and Timmonen out a few gms...all in all...good playoffs.

Can't complain at all. Flyers surpassed all reasonable expectations one could of had for this year and they will be back to being a force for years to come in the Eastern Conference. Next year the bar will be raised and I'm already looking forward to it.
Stanley Cup finals should be good either possible outcome. Everyone assumes the Wings but they played so timid last game and its going back to Dallas and I can see Turco taking them to the Cup over the next two games. -

i am so pleased with this year's result for the Flyers. They went from last to fighting for the eastern conference finals the net. they beat the 3rd and 1st seeds. and they did it while having to deal with injuries the whole season.

that being said, where were you last year talking about the pens? what about the year before that? when they were looking up from the bottom of the standings? oh, the Penguins made it to the finals this year so now you talk about them. what do they call people like you? fair weather fans?

pens fans are some of the worst fair weather fans in hockey, they are constantly on the verge of losing their franchise only to be saved by 2 of the greatest players of 2 different era's along with a 2nd guy who is also one of the greatest... yet in a few years they will almost lose their team again.... so if you wanna talk trash 1st get off that bandwagon, and talk trash about a team your city actually supports like the Steelers.

Just because you dont post about a team when they are losing doesnt mean you weren't rooting for them at that time. I went to at least 10 Pens games a year when I lived in Pittsburgh whether they sucked or not. Same with the Pirates, I went to 25 games in 2004. They lost 18 of them.
Of course the Steelers are talked about more because they are winners more often than not. But Steeler fans are in the same boat as everyone else. You couldnt give tickets away in '03 when they went 6-10. Fans were leaving in the 2nd quarter, throwing their terrible towells in the river, and calling for Cohwers head. 2 years later they win the Super Bowl and those same fans where waving their brand new terrible towels and cheering Cowher. It's just human nature. Not all fans are like that, just the majority.
Its natural to talk about a team more when they are winning. After the Celtics made that trade there were 5 threads a day about them. How many were there 2 years ago??
Same with Brewers last year and the Hornets this year. -

admittidely, pittsburgh is not a great hockey city, we are unfortunately a football city even though im not a big steelers fan. but calling people fair weather fans for not posting about them over the last years is dumb, congrats on posting on the flyers for 3 years ur awesome, we post now because eeven though flyer fans are passionate there whiney assholes who always think there getting screewed. sinner, he is agreeing with you in the sense that the pens currently have the biggest band wagon in hockey, but that comes with sucess. as a true pens fan i can say that the real pens fan ( however few there may be) are as passionate about there team as any. so eff the flyers, and the wings GO PENS

All spelling and gramatical errors aside, I never said that the Pens were not a better team in this series. Noone gave us a chance vs the Caps, or the Habs, but we took down the caps, and destroyed the Habs, and we never got credit for any of that. All we heard was how Biron was the only reason and blah blah bah. Noone mentioned that Umberger was the leading scorer, and Briere was one of the top assists men, or how we limited Ovechkin to his contributions. My hat is off to the Pens, they played a great series, but I still like our chances in the FUTURE. This was a rebuilding year for us. and to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, is a pretty big accomplishment. I really liked what Paul Holmgren did, and continues to do, and he is doing everything that Bobby Clarke did not do.
