    i really havent seen anything other than the england goals that they show on the news. just assumed that they had both topped their groups.
    i had been missing football so much but i just couldnt bring myself to watch the womens world cup. luckily there is the under 17 world cup and copa america

    The succes of the US women compared to the men always impresses me.

    Is it because most of our best male athletes are gobbled up by more popular sports early on, whereas, what the hell else is an athletic girl going to play? Might as well be soccer right?

    I know alot of Mexicans. They say at home, the women pretty much just stay at home and do woman stuff. (as opposed to going to bars, playing sports etc.)

    Any of these reasons make sense? I'm not going to pretend to know alot about soccer here.

    the Irish soccer expert who ESPN uses, I think his name is tommie smith, was on ESPN radio the week this tourney started and said the USA women's advantage is due to the great organization and opportunity that women have in the US as compared with the other countries.

    obv we lose a lot of our top level athletes to football, basketball and baseball, which many of the other countries dont have to worry about for their men's team. The ESPN guy said that other countries were developing or expanding their efforts regarding youth soccer for women and he didn't think it would be an advantage for much longer

    Woman's soccer's quality has gone up alot over the last few years. It's gone from the point where you watched it hoping that that they would randomly get naked on the field, to watching it because it's actually enjoyable and the getting naked is just a huge bonus
