  1. Anyone else pick this up today? Foo fighters seem to be one of the handful of rock bands out there that can still consistantly put out solid albums. I'm enjoying it so far but it will take a few listens through before I can make a decision on it.

    Wasting Light Track List:
    • "Bridge Burning"
    • "Rope"
    • "Dear Rosemary"
    • "White Limo"
    • "Arlandria"
    • "These Days"
    • "Back & Forth'
    • "A Matter of Time"
    • "Miss the Misery"
    • "I Should Have Known"
    • "Walk"

  2. i really enjoyed this cd, been listening to it on repeat basically since they started streaming it on their website last week.
  3. Watched the documentary about them the other day, excited to listen to it. This is the album they recorded all on tape right?
  4. I'm diggin' White Limo.
  5. this album is awesome. rope/dear rosemary/white limo are especially great
  6. Great cd, loving "I should have known", espec that bass line, which is obv the guy from nirvana for whoever has seen their documentary on tv lately.

  7. had no clue a cd was coming out...i hear the documentary is really good

  9. Awesome album!!!
  10. Fantastic album. I can't pick a favorite song. I reallllllllllllllly like: "Bridge Burning", "Rope", "Dear Rosemary" and "I Should Have Known". There's not a song on there that I don't like, though.

I watched the documentary on VH1 and it was verrrrrrrrrry good also. I never knew all of the drama that went on in the early years. They even had a nice piece that involved some of the Nirvana years w/ Dave.
  11. this is a thread that I can post in

Like someone else said I have been listening to it since they posted the stream. Bridge Burning could be my favorite opening song on their albums ever. If I had to pick a least favorite, it's probably Back & Forth, but everything else is amazing. I was worried about how it would sound since it was all on tape and based on the original White Limo video, but it sounds great
  12. I was a huge foo fan throughout high school and for a few years after, but as music tastes have chaged in the last few years, I've kind of abandoned most of the rock genre. That said, I still pick up albums from bands I've supported throughout the years and this album is really good and the VH1 doc was great.

was it the rise to fame piece on Palladia? I watched that late Friday night it was phenomenal... these guys are one of my favorites by far
  14. Just downloaded (legally) and another fine effort.

Seen them twice and planning on seeing them a couple of times this tour.
  15. not only did they record it on tape but if you actually buy the physical cd, they cut the actual tape itself up into over a million pieces and put a piece inside each cd sleeve. very cool!

  16. Bought this album late last week. Thanks for the headsup, OT! This ablum is excellent.

My favorites are Back and Forth and A Matter of Time
  17. i heard Dave Grohl hired someone to kill Kurt Cobain so he could steal all Kurts unrecorded songs for his own personal gain. Grohl then started Foo Fighters so he could release all of the stolen music without drawing suspicion.
  18. yes that is 100% accurate. What's your point?

    You're trying too hard.

  20. I liked it, I'm not a huge fan of them but I've always enjoyed their stuff. Plus not many other bands on their level decide to do a tour that's strictly played in garages.

  21. fwiw it wasn't a tour in garages. They had a contest for one lucky guy to have them play in front of 50 friends in that person's garage. The CD was recorded on analog tape in a garage too
  22. Sick garage video, can Dave Grohl rape anymore than he does? by far my fav. musician, he always has a blast

It was more than one person, because there's a bunch of "Garage Tour" videos that the band posted on youtube in different areas. I def remember a NY one and a DC one.

  25. Lollapalooza official announcement in an hour and a half!
  26. as an update to the above post, Foo Fighters are at Lolla

Cannot stop listening to this album all of a sudden. I liked it, now it's constantly in my head and I cannot stop, The last Foo ablum I bought was The Colour and the Shape. Might have to pick up some that I missed.
  27. you can probably skip One by One, but the rest are pretty great. That even has a couple songs on it

I wake up with a song in my head pretty much every day
  28. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with songs in my head, not just Foo songs though fwiw, just random shit....except today was Bridge Burning
  29. yeah that and Walk get stuck in my head a lot

I'm just so excited for Lolla, my 4 favorite current artists are going to be there, I just hope they don't overlap. My last.fm profile is basically the lineup for it though
