In Basketball....
When the Defender slaps a shooters hand/wrist immediately after he has released the ball?
-I am undecided on this. On one hand i feel like it doesn't technically divert the shot, yet on the other hand the shooter is still "in the process" of shooting. I feel like I have seen times when a shooter gets fouled after the release and still gets the And1. Any BBall OT experts have any input or did it this not make sense? lol -
It should be...in most cases, it definitely changes the ability to follow through (AKA shoot properly).
I'm not talking about the brushing of hands, either. I'm talking about the plays where a defender's hand completely stops the momentum of the follow through. -
Yes it is. Ill quote the exact rule in a few minutes when I dont have 6 tables up/
-
It is by rule, I'll let people who've played a lot of basketball talk about whether it should be
-
yes, its a foul. has to be. if it isnt then it becomes a judgement call on whether or not the ball was released and what not...
absolutely a foul... whether it dictates a players shot? sometimes yes and sometimes no... and i think thats why it is a foul -
he seems pretty sure, so ill say yes -
Yes a foul, the shooter has to be able to follow through before any contact is made.
