I agree, and to add to it, the best is on a hot day at Six Flags or Cedar Point, and you are dying of thirst. You end up paying 4 bucks for a fountain coke, but it tastes so fucking good, there is nothing like it.

I don't even like coke that much, but - mmmmmmm - ice cold in an old school glass bottle is the best by far.

There is a definate differance in the quality of fountain Coke from various places. Speaking as a person that has been on field trips to the World of Coca-Cola on multiple occasions I feel like I'm a quasi-expert in this area. -

agree with jtown...the ratios of carbonation to syrup have to be just right. But when it is, fountain coke is way better than coke in a plastic bottle or can.

An effective way to get a free Coke at a restaurant in GA. is to ask the server if Coke is really free in ATL, because that's what your friends told you. 5/10 times you get the free Coke. I have lived in/around ATL for almost 20 years and I do this a lot.

I am quite the authority on soft drinks, so here is my take.
Fountain drinks are top spot because they are so bubbly and fresh. In 2nd place comes cans. Cans beat out plastic 20oz. because the get colder. In a normal vending machine, it is not cold enough to make a 20oz. coke taste chilly. The only truly cold 20oz. bottle i've ever had was at Six Flags over Texas years ago. They must have brought them in already frozen or something. So plastic comes in last. Also plastic doesn't hold in the cold very long, it just isn't a liquid packaging material.

also, I believe that Dr. Pepper gets colder than Coke, thoughts? -
