A TSA agent told Weber that her mother's Depends underwear was "wet and firm and they couldn't check it thoroughly," so the mother-daughter duo left in search of a bathroom to remove the underwear. Weber did not have an extra pair of Depends with her. -
cool story bro

Q: What does a 95 yr old vagina look like?
A: Depends! -
she didn't have an extra pair of depends? what incontinent old lady only has one pair? suspicious imo, glad they checked her out.
-
old ladies are pretty shrewd with money, maybe she was just reusing them
-
God damn terrorist
-
Personally I think if you are 95 years old, at this point you should be able to blow up a plane or at least try to.
-
The point is that we have 95 year old grannies trying to blow up uhmerika and we need to protect ourselves. hell, i'd lay odds there was poison in her piss and she was going to kill someone on that flight.
-
That "professional, proper procedure" by our TSA calls for a 95 year old woman to be stopped for even a fraction of a second and that agents could even possibly know that a 95 year-old woman's adult diaper was "wet and firm".
The fact that you are satisfied, and that you think anyone should be satisfied that ultimately they chose not to make the woman remove her diaper is pretty telling. -
13 of the 9/11 hijackers were 95 year old women with pee-filled diapers. duh

Edited By: Rocket Surgeon Jun 27th, 2011 at 07:06 PMFine, feel free to advertise to the world that no one over the age of 80 will be checked in security. That won't have any unintended consequences at all.Originally Posted by jetsjets1028

We either go 100% profiling and limited screening or we profile no one and screen everyone thoroughly. I'm a supporter of profiling, but in the absence of that, screening everyone is the only way to go and I'm fine with it.
Also, I'm not "satisfied" with anything. I'm just pointing out that you either didn't read the article or didn't choose to point out that what you quoted isn't true. And if TSA publicly lied I'm sure the lady's lawyer will take care of it by, oh, nowish. -
Edited By: jetsjets1028 Jun 27th, 2011 at 07:15 PMWhy is screening everyone the only way to go? What if we screened everybody but didn't pull people to the side unless their behavior COMBINED with certain red flags gave us reason to.Originally Posted by Rocket Surgeon

Why must we craft our security measures according to what will hopefully raise the fewest complaints from wacko equal rights groups that are looking for anything to bitch about?
Why can't the people responsible for keeping us safe simply say to anyone who opens their mouth that due to obvious security risks, that our methods for securing our airports will not be released for every American to scrutinize.
This really isn't that difficult. We, as a country simply choose to make it that way. -
Did you read the part of my post where I said "I'm a support of profiling?" Because I'm pretty sure I said that.

you know about 30 mins later he goes over to Bob and says
"smell my finger" -
No, I do disagree (well, depending on what you want to call your point after I make this post). I support profiling. We don't do that. Therefore, screening everyone is the only option. Given that, I'm fine patting down old people.

? I thought everyone knew already?

See, what I don't get is why screening everyone is the only option. Why must such important matters be held hostage to political correctness or some perceived chance of inequality.

Some things should be too important. You say that you agree but you seem to think this is a fine Plan B. I think it is awful and has been awful since 9/11. -
I think it's worked insanely well in terms of results. Also, it's not the only option. Like I said, it's the option in absence of profiling, which I would do more of.
