  1. Pretty ridiculous, shot at 4K which is 4 times more res than 1080p. You aren't actually seeing the quality unless you have a 4K lcd screen, which runs now at about 30K, but will be the new standard in the future. The new Hobbit is shot in 5K.

  2. i'll switch when some 4k porn comes out. i want to be able to feel the money shots. not literally. although maybe
  3. Damn impressive looking.

  4. The crazy thing is they can take stills from that video and they are higher quality then any slr out there. I'm thinking about buying a Red Scarlet, cause I sometimes shoot weddings, I can get the video and pics off the same camera.

edit: sorry the same quality of the best slr cameras

  5. Very very cool.
  6. Holy shit it moved, especially when they showed footage from EDC Vegas. Thanks for posting this.
  7. At what point are our eyes gonna stop being able to tell the difference in the quality?

That looked awesome btw. I cant imagine how great that looks with the right monitor/screen.
  8. ya this is super HD, but they have also made 8k Ultra HD screens aswel, so wen they milk us for the 4k sets they will bring out the 8k stuff.....cant wait lol
  9. I watched a video of elijah woods looking at footage of the Hobbit and he literally went to put his hand through the screen of the 5k small monitor for playback. I think that's about as good as it gets. Blu-ray will probably be red-ray in 5 years.

  10. Here's the 8k
  11. Yah, it's a tv screen, but how did they shoot the footage? They would of had to up convert from 5k which is the highest res a camera can shoot (that I know of), which would result in poorer picture quality.

  12. good point, from what iv read 8k is a long way away so ur prob right, afaik they havent figured out a way to receive even 4k by satellite yet cuz there is so much info, but again maybe they have since i read that.

also i heard u can get a 37" 4k monitor, do want lol, but not at the crazy ass price
  13. I read an article the other day and they did figure out the satellite dillema, also I did some research on 8K cameras and it looks like Sony is the front runner, but still years away and the price point is ridiculous, over 1 mil a camera (which means the tvs or projectors will be way up there). The cameras that shoot 1080p for MNF cost around 250K, you can now shoot 5 K for as little as 15K.
