  2. Firestorm is a hell of a picture
  3. Since all you fucks seem to claim this show is the nuts I decided to give it a try since my bro hooked me up with his login for HBOGO.

Im like 4 episodes in to season 1 but so far the show seems like a big cock tease. Unless there is a naked bitch on the screen Im bored and uninterested in most of the episode. Then something interesting happens in the last 5 minutes and Im like shit now I need to watch the next episode to see what happens.

Tell me it gets better because I hate watching the first 50 minutes of it just to see what happens in the last 5.

Not sure what to say here, but if you don't like it, you should just stop watching it. I mean, of course it gets better as it goes along and you get more into the characters and their storylines. But pretty sure I was hooked after the first couple of episodes. Out of curiosity, what current tv shows do you think are really, really good?

if you don't find the dialogue gripping, chances are you're not intelligent.

Or I just don't care much for the whole medieval stuff which is why I never really cared to watch it before. But if you want to dress up like a moron and play sword fight then more power to ya I guess.
  8. stop making my point so easily for me.

    medieval huh? lol, ok...

and you have Sons of Anarchy on your favorite show list, your opinion is invalid.

back to cable tv, no HBO for you.

  9. Hey Waco. If Baylor made it to the BCS title game and I told you that you only had only two choices, which would you pick.

Watch a five minute tv clip of highlights or listen to the whole game via the radio, which would you choose??

    lol, seriously.

I have a family member or two (by marriage, defintely not in anything in my family bloodline that would cause any of us to like that show), that is obsessed with SoA. I literally cringe whenever I see a FB post about it.

my wife hates the whole sword-and-sorcery genre, but she loves this show.

the Lannisters are bad ass, Sean Bean was amazing in season 1, khaleesi is hot and bad ass, hell, even the John Snow stuff from the wall is good and keeps me engaged

Tyrion, Tywin, Varys and Littlefinger are enough for me to keep watching

I just can't fathom why you would pass up a superior product. For example, in the first season Tyrion doesn't get trampled before the battle. He participates and the detail is awesome. But whatevs. I'll leave you alone. I am wondering if they're gonna start dragging the show out and having it come out every 18 months like Sopranos did in later seasons

May not get the final book in the series for 10 years. And George RR Martin is 64 and fat...

  14. so either way I will be waiting for the series to finish...

I'd prefer to continue the best 60 minutes of television viewing I have ever experienced while I can each week. thanks tho

looking forward to reading the books one day.

  15. I've actually heard SoA is a pretty good show. 8.7 on IMDB isn't the best but it's not too shabby either. I think his TV show list is fine, which makes it even more mind blowing that he thinks GoT is boring.

"I hate watching the first 50 minutes of it just to see what happens in the last 5."

Is he watching true blood? I mean what I don't even, sigh.

  16. I'm having trouble getting into the first book so far because I already think I know what's going to happen. Idk tho, I've been kinda busy lately and I've only read the first 100 pages or so which is just background info and introduction of the characters. I'm assuming it gets better, but I find myself wondering if I would ever get into this book (I'm in the "not a fan of this genre" camp) if I couldn't visualize some of the scenes because I've seen the show.

I watched the two seasons of the show before I started reading, and then got into the books. I thought it gave me an edge in some way because i had names/faces/voices to go with all of the characters. I'd try and stick with the book if you can...you do (mostly) know what's going to happen, but the richness of description of the events that you've already seen on tv will make you happy (or at least did me). The tv show and books start to really diverge in the second book.

Also, since this is the "TV show" thread, is it a spoiler to post casting news for season 3? Don't want to be "that guy".
  18. You know the casting for season 3? There isn't really any new characters from 2 to 3 that stick out.

I would cast my vote for it being okay so long as it is kept to ex.: "Salma Hayek will be playing Septa Lemore."

Leaving it at that should be fine, but saying i think person X will be right, or wrong, for the role because of x, y, and z tresspasses in spoilers. If you've read all 5 books, and want to comment in depth on the casting put it in the book thread.
