Apparently Castro had a significant stroke and is near death, yet none of the major news sources seem to give a shit. Where did I first see anything about this?
Dan LeBatard tweet from 5 hours ago:
"It would be the unique fate of our radio show to have Castro die on the day we have given the show over to noted Cuban authority...Pat Sajak"
http://www.tmz.com/2012/10/19/fidel-...-stroke-death/
So why is it that they are afraid to cover this? Because it's speculation? Because they can't get official confirmations? Like all of a sudden these news channels have developed some type of journalistic integrity? Yeah, that's not laughable at all. -
I read the headline and immediately thought, "Can't wait to see DLHQ on Monday." Of course it was his tweet. Big celebration day for Papi.
-
DLHQ sucks and Castro has been dead for a few years now.
-
^^^ That too

When he is confirmed dead it will be news -
"Marquina is also the doctor who declared in April that he had “first-hand” knowledge that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was losing his battle with cancer."
-
what exactly would u like them to report, mr spank
-
Only in Latin America can you have stage 1259 terminal cancer and still be alive and in power.

Wah wah wah, cry wolf, get back to me when he is dirt napping. Fucking attention whore castro. Die already. Geeez.

The day Castro dies, Miami will have the craziest party ever. The next day, 90 percent of all Cubans will go back to the island to buy property and invest in businesses. Castro is a huge piece of shit. Fuck that guy...Unless you're Cuban or have close Cuban friends, you cannot truly understand the hate the "exile community" has for him. Pisses me off that a lot of rich white kids love to glorify the Cuban revolution. You have no idea what really happened.

Won't somebody in his family or party just take over?

His brother has already been running the country for 5 years
-
Well, yeah. I should have said when Cuba opens up again. Shitty situation for all. -
i just read that it's estimated that Castro has had sex w/ >35k women. according to the article, he's been bangin 2x a day for over four decades. i wonder what % of them are OT 10's? 20%? less?
-
Cuban women can be pretty freaking hawt . . . I hope the States maintains the embargo forever. Keeps Cuba more enjoyable for Canadians, not to mention cheaper.
-
The Cuban Revolution was obviously extremely brutal, and the Castro regime has been no better since it took power, but I think we should probably keep in mind for two seconds that there was a reason for that revolution. The Batista regime Castro overthrew was just as politically repressive, just as into torturing and executing their enemies, just as corrupt, and in bed with the Mafia to boot. It's unfortunate that Castro and his boys were the ones to lead the revolution and take over afterward, but that regime needed to be overthrown and deserved everything it got.

I think he's referring to the little rich pale douchebags that, from their sheltered cul de sacs, fetishize the imagae of Che Guevara based on an iconic photograph.
-
yik. My point is that, if you look at Che Guevara specifically (or the Cuban Revolution generally) simply as a revolutionary and ignore his actual governance, its not hard to see him as an inspiring figure. This was a rich kid who gave up everything and risked his life to overthrow a violent and oppressive dictatorship out of not much more than compassion for people less fortunate than him.

Obviously you shouldn't just look past the fact that he was also a mass murderer, a torturer, etc etc. And it's certainly very possible that a ton of the people who wear Che shirts have no idea about any of it and just think it looks cool, which is problematic. But I don't think Che shirts are quite as ridiculous or objectionable as some people do, and I think people who act like Cuba was some sort of Garden of Eden before Castro came along and ruined it are full of shit. -
So Hitler is obviously on your list of inspiring people too?
