  1. This article says this is the first year the superbowl will be streamed. However, it says thoughout the US. It may be blocked elsewhere.

  12. Why do we need SOPA again? Apparently it's already illegal to steal stuff on the internet.
  13. why do ya'll hate people so much that you steal from them?

would you steal from someone walking down the street? do you snatch purses from lil old ladies? do you dine and dash?

unreal, how do you justify doing this?
  14. The excuse that the ticket payer is picking up the cost of the theft is bullshit.

If all sports would offer their shit at a reasonable price, a la carte, for all people as opposed to these fucking contracts with networks we all wouldn't have this problem.

There are games that I would pay .99 cents to stream online but I cannot do that, I have to sign up for some service and pay more than I feel I should have to pay to watch a few extra games a year that I cannot get on TV.

People who move and wish to watch their home town team are unable to do it cheaply without subscribing to some service that they usually do not wish to have because they only care about the one team's games. Nope, have to buy the whole NHL, or NBA package on my cable provider. Can't buy anything a la carte. Its not a buyers market, its the sellers market, and instead of getting with the times (think Lous CK raking by making his video cheap to buy).

Shit gets pirated because the companies themselves are fucking obtuse as to how to best get their product out to the market. Will some people steal still, sure, but lots of other people will also pony up the 99 cents or $1.99 to stream a game, whatever.

Stop blaming the people for the failure of the company's.

    imo
  15. Well I gotta chime in as I do pay for the Super sports pack thru my cable provider and it's one of the better deals out there. ($32.99/month for NHL,NBA,MLB,NFL,Nascar,NCAA,OHL) but the issue I have is often times they dont show all the games I am interested in so I have to go to firstrow to view any games I wanna see. If they charged a small subscrition I'd gladly pay for it.

And lol @ eyeknows for comparing streaming a game from your favourite team to stealing purses.

  16. so you pay an extra $380 ish a year and still don't have all the games

    exactly my point, its bullshit
  17. yes but in Rogers defense the only games I dont get are the NCAA ball ones. and it's not every one but I'm a huge fan and like watching a bunch of diff teams. Only twice this year has a carolina game not been in my package. Mostly B12 games that arent on main ESPN network is what i dont get or mid-majors broadcast on ESPNU. And I am without a doubt in the top % of Canadians who actually follow that sport. I have only ever watched Hoops on there but alot of my pals dont have luxery of sports pack so theyre jammed and they still pay a hefty penny for cable. The cable companies/ TV stations make SOOOOOOOO much $$ off advertising it's silly

  18. My cable provider wants more than $499 extra a year for just NBA / NHL only. I never even asked what other 'packages' they were offering.

This. I have every sports channel available here but when it comes to NFL, they show 3 games on a sunday so if the patriots aren't on then i have to stream it. I would much rather pay to watch it with a better picture but it isnt possible. Also, when i went to Egypt they show basically every EPL game live but here they never show a saturday 3pm (when most games are played) game live so if im not at the game, i find a stream. Seems crazy to me that i could watch any game abroad but not here.

Good post. ITunes figured out how to make money on a product that people could steal by making it so easy and cheap there is no reason to steal.

  21. i watch all the commercials in firsrow, ISN;T THAT ENOUGH!

    FUCK
  22. a product that I want isn't available at a price and/or at the place I want to receive it so it is OK to steal that product?

    interesting philosophy.

I used to think it was OK to steal from certain places until I realized stealing = stealing.

  24. No, I'm saying that the companies should stop asking the government to go after the sites. I am saying the companies should offer a product that people will pay for and reap the profit from the improved model of business.

    Thanks for finally realizing this
  29. dolphin go ahead and tool out here all you want

99% of all this content is already available for streaming

it is obtuse of these companies to not realize how much money they are actually losing by not offering SPORTS a la carte over the internet in today's world... but you go ahead and tool out like you like to do.
  30. If these companies don't want to do that, tough luck. It's a business. Deal with it.
