  1. 'Dark Knight' sets weekend record with $155.4M
Sunday July 20 11:15 AM ET

LOS ANGELES (AP) Batman has sent Spidey packing as king of Hollywood's box office superheroes.
"The Dark Knight" took in a record $155.4 million in its first weekend. That topped Hollywood's previous best of $151 Million set by Spiderman 3 in May of 2007.
  2. isn't it still the weekend?
  3. Shows are sold out so they already know the numbers?
  4. Good luck getting a ticket. It was easier to get a ticket to the MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium than a weekend show of The Dark Knight.

I can prove him wrong. I went last night at 7:30 and the theater was 70% full.

The latest Batman film stars Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader and the late Heath Ledger as the villainous Joker.

Set to open in the United States Friday, the movie will make its debut with nearly 2,500 Thursday midnight showings nationwide.

  10. I'm going tommorow and expecting at most a theater 1/4 way full.

I saw episode III tpm in 99 on the 2nd day and wasnt anybody there
  11. it's all guesstimates. They look at advance sales and guess what the final numbers will be. Pretty sure it will be off a couple hundred thousand one way or another.

And it's not selling out everywhere. you can still walk up to places and find seats. maybe it's cuz I'm in a big metro area but I just checked three theatres and you can get tickets for every showing for the rest of the day.
  12. Hundreds of showtimes for TENS OF THOUSANDS of showtimes daily nationwide. You showed us.

Just sneak in.... Then you never have to worry about a ticket.
  14. Sneak in and sit where? If the seats are all sold out, there is no where to sit at.
