Which is better after Floyd... Who made floyd, Floyd while they were still in the band?
I've seen both after Floyd, Gilmour has better voice.... I guess my vote is Gilmour, what u got -
Dark Side of the Moon at Hollywood Bowl with Roger Waters is the best concert I've been to. The mushrooms helped
-
Why are you hippies not occupying something?
-
Waters.
-
Loved the Waters-less Floyd just fine, thank you. Gilmore.
-
Waters
-
Mason

Worked security mid 80s and saw Waters. My job was to guard the large speaker stack in upper deck providing surround sound experience. i fell asleep. Could have been the bowls smoked prior to coming to work but my vote goes to Gilmour as the guitar was the driving force but on other hand waters was creative genius.

I vote for a tie -
Waters...gilmore a muchmuchmuchmuch more talented musician but Waters composed almost all the classic floyd songs.
-
2 best songs on the Wall were written by Gilmour
-
The other consideration is Waters has never written anything listenable without Gilmour but not vice versa -

I know the classic Floyd is the shit but I think the Division Bell is a fucking under-rated album. Whoever wrote that album is better. I know its not even in most peoples top 5 Pink Floyd albums but to me its #3.
-
Because the thread needs more Floyd and I've had a few
-
waters and its not even close
-
Waters. Saw The Wall last year with Waters and I can't imagine Gilmore being better although I never saw him live.
-
WATERS, COME ON
-
Waters because of his lyrical genius. After Bob Dylan, he's the best songwriter in history imo. With that said, Gilmour is easily one of my favorite guitarists, and The Division Bell is one of my favorite PF albums.
-
I've had this debate countless times and there is no correct answer. Both are amazing musical minds that bring different things to the table.
Without either Gilmour or Waters, Pink Floyd isn't an all-time great band. However, I think the same can be said for Richard Wright too, although to a much lesser degree. My point is, Pink Floyd is the result of a perfect fluke, somehow bringing amazing musicians together that perfectly complement one another. Gilmour has a great ear for music and is undoubtedly one of the best guitarists ever. Waters is a lyrical and thematic mastermind. I honestly couldn't pick one. Apples and oranges. -
I mean, waters is clearly a gaping asshole and a gilmoru is a sweetheart. That much is clear.
-
Purple Jesus is correct, but I give gilmour the alight edge based on Floyd not being Floyd without his sound.
-
I might need to change my answer. Which one's Pink?
-
PF is definitely one of my all time favorite bands and I think it was the sound of Gilmore's guitar that defined Pink Floyd. Shine On just wouldn't be the fucking hugely epic song it is without the delicate yet intense guitar solo at the beginning, the same goes for Dogs, Comfortably Numb, Pigs, etc...
That being said, we wouldn't be talking about either one of them if they hadn't met each other.
+1 to The Division Bell being way underrated.
