    This has been one of the coldest winters I can remember. We've had more snow and ice this year than the last 4 years combined (a guess). Global Warming my ass.

    this has been the warmest winter here that i can remember.it just started getting cold lastweek.it was like 60's and even low 70's somedays..weird..global warming..i dunno

    Global Warming = Bad Beat.

    Over the normal poker session, variance tells you that something odd will happen (AA beaten by KQ). Several occurences of normal variance in a row is not unexpected (seeing a run of dominating hands lose). The sample size that is the basis for most warnings of "Global Warming" would make most statisticians (or poker players) laugh.

    What we are in is a cycle of weather bad beats. The variance is that temperatures are shifting higher - which any non-biased climatologist will tell you is not unexpected in a short period of time. And yes, specific locations may be seeing variance counter to the claims of global warming.

    The majority of people "in the know" will tell you that Global Warming is a myth. Unfortunately, the voice of the minority is greater because the majority never needs to raise their voice.

    P.S. as a scientist I 100% support the Global Warming Theory...it's called a theory because it has substantial evidence supporting the claim. I'm not saying we're going to kill ourselves with global warming, but we're definately directly affecting the environment.

    That might be the most intelligent comment about global warming I have read. As you said it is STILL just a theory, but nonetheless a theory with amble support.

    It is impossible to determine if it will kill us, but it definitely shows we have an adverse effect on the environment.

    I personally don't give a shit about this long term stuff. I think we need to concentrate on the present and THEN worry about the future.

    What a stupid fucking ignorant thing to say. Ice caps melting isn't a theory. Anyone who doesn't believe that global warming is fact is an idiot. When the ice caps melt, which they are, it raises the sea level. I don't know if you noticed, but most of the most economically developed cities in the world, especially in the U.S., are port cities.

    This thread is silly bc some people have their head in the sand and they won't take them out for anything bc they're selfish and don't give a fuck about anything that doesn't affect them directly..

    What I meant by that comment is that there are plenty more pressing issues in America like unemployment, crime, teenage pregnancy, oil deficiencies, homelessness and poverty in general just to name a few.

    I didn't say global warming is a bi-partisan issue. I said you are a stupid fucking hypocrite for berating people for being selfish, yet you support tax policy DEEPLY rooted in selfishness where people only care about how much money they are getting back in their own pocket and don't care about the fact that the government has to borrow that money and create larger funding problems for future generations, and will likely cause cuts to federal programs for people who need help the most.

    Not every tax cut creates borrowing problems, but if you say so, then I guess it does, right? The increase in tax revenues has been reducing the deficit though, wrong? We can't do every federal program that sounds rosy, and if that's me being a hypocrite in your eyes, then that's fair enough.

    This winter has been a 2-7 cracking AA for the Poconos of PA. Usually we get a few big storms each year and the biggest snowfall this year has been a dusting. Just this past week was the first period of cold temps.
