I have been studyin alot for it via the internet and taking some practice tests in this Kaplan book i got, any other tips on how to do well on this test?
thanks

just make sure you put a signature at the bottom of each answer. they will like that.
seriously though, gl on the test. -
swtballa, I just took it a few weeks ago.
I bought a GMAT prep book at Barnes and Noble and studied only the section of the hardest batch. I figured if I could do those, I'd do well.
My advice is to take lots of practice tests and to make sure you're not going into the test cold.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. I did pretty well on 'em and got into both programs I applied to. -
There is no substitute for practicing over and over and over. Being familiar with the types of questions you will have on the test will increase your chances of success.
I am assuming this advice is as true for the GMAT as it is for the LSAT. -
I bought a book from Barnes and Nobles also and have been goin over it for a few weeks. The math portion seems alot easier than the english but I guess thats cause I am a finance major. Did you finish each section in time?
thx again

Ya I finished the test. I scored a 730. The tricky part was that there are sample questions thrown in there, so when the questions suddenly get easier, I panicked a little bit that I might have messed up.
I thought the math and English were about equally difficult. If you're prepping that hard, you should be fine. All I used was my one book and the sample DVD that came with it. -
Just wondering but what is the GMAT scored out of and how does 730 compare with an average?

i can't hold my tongue anymore...
wtf is the gmat? -

Thanks.
I applied to U of Virginia and William and Mary. UVA has an excellent program, but it's 2 hours from me and doing their Executive MBA program would be too much of a pain in the ass.
William and Mary is right down the road from me, and while it's not as prestigious as UVA or an Ivy League school, I'm doing their Flex MBA program which allows me to work full time and take classes at night and on the weekends. gg poker.
Just some advice for some of you guys that are considering it: UVA was about 70k for the program. W&M is about 20k. For a lot of the top-ranked schools, you're paying for the name and for their relationship with large companies. If you're going into the program without a job lined up, it is certainly worth it over time to go to the best school you can. Harvard/Yale etc have an average salary of over 110k for their students straight out of the MBA program. But, if you're already working for a company and are just getting an MBA to pad your resume, it might not be worth it, from a financial perspective, to blow 70k on the MBA.
Just an FYI. For anyone considering it, lemme know if you have any questions. -
GMAT= Graduate Management Admission Test
I almost took it, but decided I really wanted to go to culinary school instead and went a different route.... -
Take the timed practice tests. Be sure you understand the structure of each section before the test and review the answers you get wrong, were they cause you didn't understand the structure?
and just to brag -- 780 GMAT.
funny story though. I had to take it twice -- the first time there were 2 pages of text missing from the reading comprehension section. -
don't know.
i took the GRE
