Somehow running out of space on original thread so here's my reply to The Alchemist's last post in that thread.
Alchemist the miracles witnessed and related in the bible are not mythology...the 4 gospels are eyewitness accounts...In a court of law today a witness or two is used as evidence...but there were many instances like Christ's Ascension that were witnessed by scores of people...There were 12 Apostles...all with the exception of John of Patmos...died horrible deaths...people don't die for weak ideas or hoaxes...
Maybe you could look up the History channel dvd movie that talks about Moses and the Jews Exodus from Egypt...there is a very good explanantion for how the physical environment figured into all of the plagues...but only God through Moses could have predicted them...
The prophets also are not a myth...they are the mouthpiece of God over the course of hundreds of years...maybe no other religion except Judaism/Chrisitianity have such a long line of prophets...
There are also over 50 predictions of things Christ would do in fulfillment of the prophecies in the Old Testament and he did every one of them...Isaiah chapter 53 actually describe Christ 800 years before he is born....
People really need to do their research if they can't accept on faith upon hearing the Good News that's why I keep mentioning the Case for Christ book...there are about 12 phd's in that book all discussing Christ's claims from the medical evidence, psychological evidence, documentary evidence, historical evidence, fingerprint evidence and other types of evidence I can't recall because they looked at it from so many angles....
