  1. I'm starting classes this summer, but I was looking for people's experiences on working full time, going to school part time. I've also got a wife and baby. I'm going to finish my finance degree which I'm halfway done with.

    What does OT know?

EDIT: picture of said wife as requested

  2. Posting pics of wife would better determine if full time school would be more appropriate.
  3. Oi school but mehhhh

Everyone I know is miserable and fucking their bodies up cuz it's finals week

  4. going for your Bachelor's? or Masters? I have worked full time throughout my Masters degree 1.5 years and it gets stressful and busy. But the work for a masters is a bit more research intensive but the profs also understand you are working full time and have family. March-May (when i graduate) are booked solid with presentations, research projects, comprehensive exams, personal stuff and then work as well.

make sure you take time for your wife and child AND for yourself. that is most important, if you don't you'll get tired and bogged down and just worn out. I recently had spring break as a student but had to work during the week but took 2 days off and made a world of difference in motivation, sleep and in my final push for graduation.

GL and good choice, I will never regret that choice I made to go back and get my master's. If finances are a problem look for GA or TA position, they will help with tuition usually.

It'll be a bachelors degree. I finished half of the finance degree cause I switch to a paramedic program. Finances won't be an issue cause I'll get Pell Grant and my work will also pay.

  6. I find the school part easier as a (theoretical) grown-up rather than a teenager who doesn't give a shit. Don't have a wife and kid though, so don't know how helpful that is. Good luck man.

Oh and deoxy wtf college has finals this week? Its friggn Spring Break most normal places.

  8. just make sure your profs know u have a family and child up front. it'll make it easier if something comes up. some profs are anal if you have to leave right away or cant make a deadline.
  9. nice pic ... no idea what a cute girl like her sees in you but ... :)

I took night school classes for about five years while working full time. It's not really that tough to do and its actually fun getting back into school after you've been in the workforce a while. You bring a whole new perspective to the class. Just dont bite off more than you can chew at first and try and ease into things to see how you can schedule in all your priorities. Have fun!!

Good advice, when I start grad school in August, I will definitely communicate this to my professors.

That's what her psycho grandmother said to me as I laughed at her while kicking her out of my house. Thanks for the advice!
