Right now I just have a LG flip phone and its definitely time to upgrade. I'm leaning towards a blackberry (i have no clue which one is the best) or maybe an iphone.
Iyo what should I get? -
should probably wait til Newfoundland gets wireless capabilities
seriously - i have an old BB that really is all i need. Most of my friends swear by the newer 3G capable models but the iphone is supposed to have a lot more apps available. Guess it depends what you want to use it for and what provider in your area has the best coverage. Rogers had an exclusive in this area until recently and now Telus and Bell are in on the game. -
iPhone

if you don't buy an iphone then steve jobs will give you aids.

start with Verizon.. then make ur choice from there. iphone is obv the right answer but the network that Verizon provides makes up for it. The storm isnt as bad now with the new OS. I hear the BB Bold is pretty dam good right?

i just got my motorola droid... the nuts.

If you don't go apple, gotta go droid. Best screen, smart ui, runs multiple apps. simultaneously.
-
yeah...sorry, should have actually stated that. guy at the VZW store said it has a high learning curve because of the different type of indenting touch screen, and that people get frustrated with it at first. i tried it out in the store and loved it right away, although it takes a little getting used to

I just got the HTC Droid Eris for Verizon and love it. I really wanted a Droid initially because of the actual QWERTY, but wasn't really feeling it. The sales guy told be about the Eris, and I told him I was hesitant about getting a touch screen QWERTY, but he busted out a demo unit and I played around with it for awhile and it is solid.
It's slightly slower than the Droid, but I can't notice a difference, and it also only has Droid 1.5, but should be updating to 2.0 soon. Was only $99 with my new every 2 program.

Verizon is supposed to carry the iphone sometime next year, but if you dont wanna wait for that get a Blackberry on the Verizon network. Just go to the Verizon store and have them help you find which one is best for u

Something to keep in mind and correct me if I am wrong... But I think that in order to have a smartphone you have to pay like 30 dollars per month extra for unlimited data which covers your internet charges.
I would really like a smarthphone but I am happy with the phone I have plus laptop and desktop. -
you for any of the "smartphones" or Blackberry products you need the data plan for an extra 30 a month which does not include texting so thats another 10 a month plus the cost of your plan...so your look at 100 a month min. depending on your plan of course

Any idea what the difference btween this and the HTC Hero is? I am on Sprint and they have the HTC Hero (which looks exactly like that) but the cost is like $180 after a $100 mail-in rebate. WTF?

I just got this phone today (coming from a 1st generation iPhone) and I'm trying to find something not to like about it so I can take it. I couldn't stand the storm2 on the demo. The type of sensory used for typing is very similar to the iPhone which makes it awesome for me because it is much faster than the actual press typing used on the storm. All in all, i'm hoping I find a reason to dislike it so I can get the new curve 8530 coming out in a couple days.

This has the google maps which I use/d quite a bit from my iPhone and is one of the biggest things keeping me from going to a blackberry.
We'll see....
