  1. Ok I'm not a great golfer by any means but I'm not half bad either. I've been using shitty clubs for a few years and last year upgraded my irons and am looking to upgrade my fairway woods this year. Anybody have suggestions on a certain club or an online place to get a decent price (used or new)? Thanks in advance.
  2. I am in your ability bracket

I bought Taylor Made RAC's - nice club - great feel - good size sweet spot

    Hitting em really well

  3. Ebay or dick's sporting goods. TM are good clubs for ave player same with callaway.
  4. Advice
  5. Taylor Made are the best woods by far... played by more pros than any other wood. I hit a Superquad driver (which may be pretty cheap now) and a Burner 3 wood. Both are very forgiving. You can find some good deals online... check out overstock.com too.
  6. I will advise you that you should have used 'advice' in your title..

edit: and i will do so 1 minute after p4d.

This.....when buying on ebay just make sure the seller has a high rating, etc. and check Dicks out because they often run some great sales like buy 2 clubs get 1 free, or offer big discounts on last years models.
  8. The Perfect Club is absolutely perfect....
  9. ebay has too many fakes...

the best site out there for used or new clubs at amazing prices is 3balls.com

Trust me go to 3balls.com they have amazing specials on right now.

you can get the Titleist 906F2 fairway woods for $70 in a variety of shafts, that would be my suggestion these are awesome clubs.

Here is the link to the FW wood deals...

  10. Callaway has a used club store on their site. People trade their clubs in so it's like a used car lot for golfclubs. They're all serviced, cleaned and rated on condition. Also it looks like somebody linked 3balls. They're pretty awesome too.

The fakes are ridiculous. I've had about at least 5 members and another probably 10+ guys who come for lessons rave about "A new ping set for $500 bag included!!!"

only too see a ridiculously obvious fake set of clubs. the lessons I usually be quiet the members I had to break their hearts, they were not very happy about it.
  13. i highly reccomend golf galaxy if there is one in your area. i had my clubs stolen a year and a half ago and i replaced everything with their used clubs. good deals and you can try them in the simulator before buying (unlike ebay). Their used prices are pretty sick

    any of these close?
  14. I like golfgalaxy
  15. callawaygolfpreowned.com
  16. Callaway FT's. Stay away from Titleist Fairway Woods. Taylor Mades are very hot off the face and go the farthest, but I find them hard to work the ball. I can do anything with my Callaway FT's.

PS. Callaway pays me money to play and to sell their product. :) I am not biased at all.

Ah I guess I have to defend my brand Titleist...Titleist FW's are easier to work than Callaway's and offer much better off the rack shafts which play a huge part in choosing a club today. Also look sooooo much sexier!

PS. Titleist supplies me with clubs, bags, balls and incentives to sell their product. :) So I am also not biased at all.

LOL God love being a golf pro eh Zee?

  19. go to your local new and used golf shop. Ask to demo a few for the day and go to the range. Buy the one you stripe the best.

Everyones swing is different so you need to find out what works for you. Not sure why people buy clubs online unless you know what you want. Spending all year to finally figure out how to hit it well sucks

I bought a fairly rare scotty online in mint condition for 180 bucks and used it 4 times before it stayed home. Went back to my 15 year old bent plastic K Mart putter. Those 3 to 10 footers are half the game once you have the rest kinda figured out. 3 to 8 more strokes a round were not worth looking good on the green. my friends think im nuts but I make the putts lol
    gl on the course
  20. O Titleist are very easy to hit, but the demand for them is low so the trade in value is low. They are a little shorter than the FT's too.
  21. If you can find one of these....GET IT

    Sonartec FTW.

Even better in Louisiana. Nationwide Tour Chitimacha Open is coming up. The closed qualifier is March 2nd with only about 20 guys in it. 74 normally puts you in. Cant wait.

Sonartec's are so fucking underrated, it's always a key for me that a guy is a decent golfer when he has a Sonartec in his bag.

Fuck Zee I'm so jealous the snow just melted here last week and is snowing again...oh well one more season up north till I get my Class A and then can transfer over my card into a PGA Professional rather than a CPGA.

Then I'll be down there in the warm with ya, for now I'll just have to keep going south every 2 weeks for a few days till golf season!
