Golf Scoring Question

    So, my girl plays the mens tees, typically mens middle or front. When you come across a hole where par is listed as 4/5, I've always understood this to mean par 4 for men, 5 for women.

    Question...since she plays from the mens box, would she play this as a Par 4 like the boys, or would she be able to play it as a Par 5?

    Are the 4/5 holes gender or tee specific?

    They are tee specific. She should play it as a Par <strike>5</strike> 4 if she's playing from the men's tees. Otherwise, she probably shouldn't be playing from the men's tees.

    wait...if its tee specific, she would play it as a par 4 as the men would, right? In other words, since she plays from the mens tees, she is exempt from getting to play the 4/5s as a par 5, correct?

    Par 4 from the mens tees

    Par 5 from the red tees (womens tees)

    thanks all, I explained to her that I was 99% sure it is tee specific

    getting backup confirmation is goot.

    Now if she would stop outdriving me....shes a stick fwiw.

    There is nothing gheyer than a hole like this. except for the Par 5's that take driver out of your hand on the tee shot.

    she is clearly good enough or at least thinks she is to play the mens tees. its a par 4 for her.

    If they held a womens event at your course, they would play it as a 4 from the up womens tees and 5 from the further back tees(mens). This is why a hole that does this at any club that is not a 9 hole course is dumb.

    ahh gotcha.

    I dont see it too often. Typically on the long mens par 4s. For ex, 440 yd par 4, womens box is playing 395, and plays as a par 5.

    but props for having a GF that golfs

    i need a golfing,fishing poker playing weed consuming GF that enjoys drinking beer and watching football (tough standards)

    I would never have a girlfriend that golfs unless she's really good at it. There just isn't very much that's more excruciating than golfing with a woman that can't break 90.

    Agree with above. I will never ever teach my gf golf. That is my time. I have a freind I play with every now and then. He is always like, can Rachel come...umm no.
