    pennington looked great this preseason. hes the same ole pennington. he will move the ball and he will win games. i cant say either of those things about henne. what a dissapointment. He does not have what it takes to be a winning qb in this league. its unfortunate, cause hes got a great arm. but you cant win consistently when your qb cant make plays on 3rd down or with the game on the line. Henne buckles and folds.

    You can replace Henne's name with any of the Phins QB's since Marino and it would work in the above statement, lol @ them taking Culpepper instead of Brees when they had the chance.

    Besides the fact that Pennington is made out of glass I've never understood the hate that this guy gets. He's not a top 10 QB but solid enough to win on a team with a good D and run game.

    its cause most people nowadays dont really watch football. they watch their team and they watch the internet for stats. they think cause they know all the numbers cause of fantasy football that their experts. when really, they show how little they actually know with comments like bb's. Anybody whos watched pennington play knows he is a quality qb. the fins are deffinatley better off (for this season) with pennington at the helm. the future looks bleek lol, but for now, we will be better.

    Yeah with comments like mine since I live in South Florida and have season tix to the Dolphins...Just because Pennington is mediocre just like Feidler, Sage, Griese, Feeley, Frerotte, Harrington....doesnt mean he is the answer you tulip.

    i think he fits with what miami wants. he wont throw interceptions like henne has. pennington is the exact type of qb miami needs. he is getting up there in age so physically he may not be all there but he was never a great athlete anyway. theyre a better team with pennington cause they play conservatively and he can manage a game better than henne.

    could not agree more. also don't understand why this guy gets so much hate. all time leader in completion %, and when i think "game manager" he's the first person i think of. dolphins just got a lot better imo. win out, crush the jets/pats hearts, and win his 3rd comeback player of the year award one time!

    I have mixed feelings as a Jet fan. I obv hate the Dolphins, but Pennington has always been one of my favorite players. Is it possible that I can root for Chad to do well but the team to lose anyway (see: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Phillip Rivers fans)?

    Also, I'm completely giddy about this considering all the talk about Henne>Sanchez all off-season. Man, he made it to the doghouse quickly.

    fwiw, one of them has an elite defense, elite oline, an extremely good running game to mask his mistakes. The Jets would be clear cut favorites to win it all with a league average QB.

    Sanchez is okay; he's in his second year. But you really can't argue that he's THAT much better than an average QB at this point. His passer rating (a more traditional stat) is 79.4. He's not great but he's not bad either.

    DVOA was created by football outsiders and is one of the best football stats out there right now even though it too has its flaws(Following is from their website): "This number represents value, per play, over an average quarterback in the same game situations. The more positive the DVOA rating, the better the player's performance." It's basically similar to VORP in baseball.
