So a cat walked up to our back door alone this morning at work and was crying loudly. I work for an equipment rental company so I assume it was wandering around our yard for a while. We got it some water and food and took care of it for the day. Noone wanted to bring it home or the shelter, so I brought it home. It is very young. It's really friendly and playful.

I bought food for it and made a makeshift litter box with stuff from work. Do they instinctively know how to use the box or do you teach them? How do the shots work? Also, any tips or things I should be expecting? -
You have to teach them how to use the box by repeatedly making them watch you sift around in the litter and take a shit.
-
wooo hooo..good man.
yes they know how to use the box..just show him where it is.. put him in it once. preferably away from where he will eat and sleep.
Yes if he is stray will need to go to the vet to be fixed and get his shots.
Lets get him a name.. -
1. Preheat oven to 350°
2. Season with salt and pepper
3. Bake for 25-30 minutes
4. Enjoy -
Just stick it in the litter box and rub its paws back and forth a little bit. It's pretty instinctive for cats to use a litter box, though.
-
yes, lets name it
-
What does it look like? Male or female?
-
scooter
-
or u could name it Lucky...lucky it didnt end up as "chicken" on the buffet line at ur local chinese rest.

thats awesome dude. me and my college roomate took in a stray(already had 1 cat at the time), and he turned out to be the coolest fucking cat ever, and i can tell even to this day he is very appreciative of me doing that. he always wants to lay close to me, and is very talkative.
they know how to use litter boxes, just show em where it is like someone else said. we took ours to the humane society because it was like 50 bucks or something for all his shots and nuetering, but if you can afford a few extra bucks, take him to a legit vet. we had to leave him overnight and when we picked him up he had cat litter stuck all over his leg and tail and we felt horrible.
we called our stray frank lucas, cuz he obv ran the streets of KC. so you gotta think of a street/hood name for the cat imo -
kitten > puppy
yeah I said it.
Bunny > all -
